...SICK as I am of turning on the TV to get some news about Nascar only to be force-fed a steady diet of Hendrick this, Hendrick that, Earnhardt this, Earnhardt that, Jeff Gordon this, Jeff Gordon that, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I'm sure it's nice if you're a fan of HMS but some of us are not and WE realize that there are in fact some other drivers/teams out there.

Unfortunately, it'll only get worse tomorrow afternoon and most likely the rest of the year.

I'm done now - at least for a while ;)

FAIR?

As in all other sports the casters speak about the winners and popular figures! What do you expect them to talk about? THE LOSERS? How boring it would be to hear them talking about who LOST this and who LOST that! It's all about winning and records..there really isn't much else to talk about.
I think too much time is spent DURING the race talking about the back runners as it is now.
Betsy:rolleyes:

Oh you mean like they always talked about Big E all the time?

It was fine then. How is this deal any different Patrick?

I'm sure I'll throw up from it by lap 100. As long as the camera is not just on the same couple of drivers, I can turn the sound off. It will be just like last year, where it was all Johnson and Gordon, only with Jr. thrown in this time around. I really hope that the winner is someone like Sorenson or Kvapil. But, on the other hand, the other guys will get just as much interview time anyway.

Yes, I was tired of it last year. This year will be alot worse than 2007.

I don't recall anyone ranting/raving about Earnhardt Sr. to the point of what's happening this year - not that I am/was a fan of his either.

Betsy, there's only one winner to each race so you'd be happy if Robbie Gordon won 3 races in a row and they talked about no one else except for him?

Do you think that if someone other than HMS wins the 500, HMS drivers will be ignored?

Highly unlikely.

I just think it's high time Nascar/Networks pulled their heads out of it and came to the conclusion that not all fans are fans of 3 certain drivers or one outfit.

The more they harp on HMS, I'll equally harp about them doing it - only seems fair :)

If they dont "rave" about HMS..then they'll talk about Gibbs..if not Gibbs then DEI..if not DEI then Roush and on and on and on.

Fact is, HMS has been the best team for the past few years. It only seems fair to give them their due. :)

See, it works in all.

That's funny!

After The "other" Gordon wins 3 in a row all they will be talking about is how many top drivers he put in the wall to get to the finish first!

Joking aside Hendrick has put together an awsome team and needs to be recognized for what he has.
Betsy;)

On Toyota..

Dynos after 150's show Toyota's stronger: Judging from NASCAR’s post-150s chassis-dyno tests, which showed Toyota’s #20-Tony Stewart had at least a 15 horsepower edge at his rear wheels over Chevy’s #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr. in Thursday’s twin races. And Richard Childress’ Chevy engines were about 30 horsepower off the Toyotas, which is some concern in both the Childress camp and with GM officials. NASCAR didn’t post any official numbers, but Stewart’s engine - built by Mark Cronquist, head of Joe Gibbs’ motor shop - pulled around 462 to 464 effective horsepower, according to those familiar with the results. That’s about 15 horsepower more than Earnhardt had and about 30 horsepower more than Chevy’s Kevin Harvick.

While Benny Parsons once said that if you want more camera time, run up front, this is getting a bit rediculous. As much as I like Junior, it's a bit of overkill. I mean really, there was more time today after the race with Junior than there was with 1st and second place combined. Add to that the whole Jr TV special, and you've got way too much time on him.

Yes, we get it, it's a big move going away from his family team, and starting to win again, but pleeeaase, enough already! This much overexposure could lead to fans turning away from Jr in the long run.....

Nothing was happening up front.

Tony or Kyle were leading by like 5 car lengths running 10 mph faster then everyone.

JR. happenns to be the big story right now. He's going to get the coverage. Couple weeks on we'll be back to Jeff-N-Jimmie again.

Think the coverage is bad... go to Wal-Mart.... If it aint Gordon, Jr, Johnson, or Hannah Montana, they don't have it....... lol

Not only fans but the sponsors as well.

They pay some serious money for exposure and sometimes only get air time if their car gets wrecked.

The only way they'll shut up about the HMS 3 Stooges is if they make an early exit.
