Flashback to last years Chase..... Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin's cars were found to be so close to the tolerances set by NASCAR that the cars were sent back to the Research Center week after week. Could this be getting ready to happen again? Only this time Hamlin & Johnson.....

NASCAR spent an extended amount of inspection time with the #11-Denny Hamlin and #48-Jimmie Johnson cars which failed to pass the height sticks in the first attempt. While the officials took pictures of the cars for insurance, after the shocks cooled down both cars made it through the height sticks on the second attempt.

NASCAR also took the #33-Clint Bowyer and #6-David Ragan cars to the technical center for further analysis as well as engines going from the #33, #11, #6, #46-Michael McDowell cars.

Taken from Fox Sports.

"stock" cars are slowly evolving into F-1.

We now have a spec chassis, serious engine rules, spring/shock rules, gear rules etc. How much longer will it be before Na$car has teams of "certified body hangers"? Or will they go to a 'glass/composite body?

Whatever came of last year's "research"? I never heard any of their findings or any of them receiving any penalty or warning.

I'd be interested to see the numbers on Bowyers car.
I like Clint, but I ain't ever seen him "that good".
Didn't RCR have problems a couple years back with tire pressure issues after NH?

I couldn't give you an answer on the tire pressure issue as I don't remember that but as far as him being 'that good'. NH is probably his best track. Yesterday started 2nd, finished 1st, led 177 laps. The same race in the fall of 2007, started 1st, finished 1st, led 222 laps. That day was even more impressive.

Goodyear states a minimum tire pressure starting the race, I don't think Na$car has made that a rule,,yet.

Clint always runs well at NH. He won't be a factor the rest of the chase.

I think it was something else to do with tires, and NASCAR said RCR didn't break any rules. SPEED, to this day, has yet to retract that story and admit they got their facts wrong.
