is Country music drepressing when your like single.

this is all i can pick up on my radio in the computer room, i liked country at one point, then i hated it, then i like it, now i got a tear in my beer!

hmm might have to brake out one of my old LP's (yes lappys has a record player and has some LP's, got a new one for christmas, thats the radio im listing to now)

Well, I'm temporarily single and listen to Country every time I turn on the radio.

I find that if you put too much thought into the lyricks, yes you will have salty beer. I just live and learn!

As far as I am concern there not much country today. A bunch of guys with cowboy hats and belt buckles as big as a pie pan. Would know the differance between a horse and an angus bull. And the girsl are no better. Now Conway, Merrle and George that's country.

Don't forget Johnny Paycheck, Don Anderson, Waylon, etc!

Country has almost gone too commercial!...see Shania for example.

Are Ann Murry or Krystle Gale, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, even The Mandrells etc. still recording or has the PC crap taken over?

I agree Gollum...that crap they have now passing for country just leaves me cold.

Give me Haggard anyday!

And no, Kat...none of those ladies music is played on any mainstream country stations anymore.

None of the ladys that you have down are recording. Wynette is dead along with Paycheck and Waylon. One of the Mandrells have a show up in Pigon Forge tn .Louise I think.

Man, I love Bob Seger and The Eagles too, now...they rule!

I also like a lot of the old southern rock like Skynard for instance, or Charlie Daniels.

Gollum, I was asking about remembering. Many of the best I remember are gone :( .

They have a radio station up here called Wille. They play a lot of the real country A lot of the ones that have been named.

I have gone to the Grand Ole Opry 4 or 5 times. I like it when The Osbourne Brothers sing Rocky Top.

I also was pretty fond on Dr. Hook and Rod Stewart.
I like Dr. Hook. [/b][/quote]

Is it just me or do we get more in common everyday?

I used to listen to country years ago. Liked a lot of old Waylon and Willie (the Outlaws era), old Charlie Daniels, Merle Haggard. Those guys made me feel better about my drinking habits. Compared to stuff like "I turned 21 in prison doin' life without parole" and "If we make it through december", my life was great :p

A couple years ago it seemed like this "new country" turned into a contest to see who could get their songs played at the most weddings.
