By watching the past few races, Brian Vickers is NOT ready for the Cup series yet. Flat out wrecked Rudd and Craven today, and had a few clashes last week with Craven and a few others. Just my opinion.

What do you guys think?

He's got talent, but the car control isnt there yet. Another year is the Busch Series would have been a good move rather than bringing him up.

I totally agree, this kid is not ready for Nextel Cup.

The kid has the heart but he doesnt have the head.

Vickers has some arrogance and way too much unpreparedness built in him and I fear such good talent will be reduced to Casey Atwood-like status. He's not ready for the big leagues, not yet. 1 year in the Busch Series is not enough, this is his first full year I believe, it's time for him to stay and hopefully when he gets it together, then he'll be off winning races in Cup.

Maybe he will mature some in the first 5-10 races with out wrecking to many.

He has lots of talent, but just needs to settle down a bit. It ruffled my feathers when he wrecked those guys, but I think he'll mature in a few races or seasons like Kurt Bush. :D

It sure looks like he has talent...maybe he needs a coach to get him up to speed in Cup?

He don't drive as bad as Ryan did in his ABC year. LOL

Of course I kinda thought Ryan reverted back in his driving style Sunday, Vickers didn't hit as many cars as Ryan did.

Qualifying 4th & 2nd in His first 2 Cup races shows that He can qualify with the best of Them IMO,look at last week when Brian got the Busch pole, had the provisional pole for the WC race a long time, till #12 took it away at the very end,nonetheless,2 very solid qualifying efforts in 2 different series in the same weekend.I'm sure that Brian's soaking up all the info that Jeff Gordon is showing Him also

If Brian was to leave Cup,then why not Todd Bodine,Kenny Wallace,Larry Foyt & etc? ;)

Loy Allen was a hell of a qualifier too. ;)

I agree with the majority on here, the kid shows flashes of brillance and IS still very young. Given time he will be ok. Next year will be up and down though. Gordon or Johnson he's not.

I think it's way too early to be judging him. Kurt Busch was a lot worse his rookie year.

Good point, Parkfan... but I dont think Kurt ran over that many drivers within 3 races. Sad thing is, Brian talks like some of these drivers doesn't deserve to run full-time, yet he's the one wrecking others.

I dont dislike Brian, but he needs to calm down and realize there is more drivers on the track than just 1.

Besides the last race, when has Vickers wrecked anyone? There are a few drivers in Winston Cup who are very ****y and talk trash about others, yet people seem to love them. Those drivers are also not the cleanest on the track. Busch did get in quite a few incidents his rookie year, I don't remember if they were in the first 3 races.

He wrecked Craven and Rudd at Rockingham, I don't recall him wrecking Craven elsewhere.

If you watched Inside WC last nite, you heard Mikey, Johnny and Kenny say when they showed Brian get into the backend of Ricky Rudd who then got into Craven (not Vickers) that the sun was a horrible problem in that turn. Plus, it was also a new tires vs. old tires thing.

(I'm not making excuses for Brian Vickers.)
