My wet and withered body has to be at work today ( it's raining here by the way :) ) if it rains all day and into the night the rumor is the race will be rescheduled for the next availible weekend ( Whens that? )

:D :D I'm an ass so I'm gonna rainDance the day away :partytime

apr 8th, would think they would run it tomorrow before waiting until april.

Why would we want the race to be postponed to the next available weekend? I am sure that the 100,000 or so fans that are committed to seeing the race in Daytona today or tomorrow want to see what they paid for.

A rep from NASCAR was just on Sirius NASCAR Radio a few minutes ago. It was stated that if they don't get this race in today, it will be run tomorrow. The weather looks great for tomorrow the last I looked.

Teams have already been making arrangements to have their Phoenix cars trucked down to Florida to be loaded up and sent to Phoenix. They need to be on the road by 6pm Tuesday to hit Phoenix @ the scheduled time.

Sorry Do WHAT

I would imagine that all of the teams have built in contingency plans for about every situation imaginable.

Yes

They will send the cars to Florida to be loaded on the haulers then they will go straight to Arizona. The cars in Daytona will be shipped back to Charlotte. The reason for this is that most teams don't have multiple sets of fully stocked haulers.

I'll try to explain it clearer. The haulers that are currently @ Daytona are the same haulers that will be heading to Phoenix. If they do not get the race in today the Phoenix cars will be brought to Florida and loaded on to the haulers @ the speedway. They will then leave from there for Phoenix.

Thanks. I didn't think that it was all that confusing.

Ok tks
Just didn't understand why they would bring then to Fla.

No just can't believe that they don't have more than ONE hauler

Just a time saver rather than head back to Charlotte and then to Phoenix.

And to further complicate things..... Those haulers that will return to Charlotte from Daytona will then load up the Vegas cars and head west so that they'll be ready for the following weeks race @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Let me explain my self, It's Obvious to anyone here that the race isn't going to be ran today. Maybe tonight but even then it's doubtful even if they get it dried off and started we'll never get a full race in. Many of the Fans have been here 3-4 days already and many have already had to leave. People where Giving Away tickets yesterday! How many do you think can afford to stay till Tuesday??? Not many.
Thats why I'd rather see it rescheduled for the next availible weekend.
Don't Worry about the race teams or cars making it to Phoenix thats not the Issue.

I wish I could take an Ambien and wake up at 5pm but I don't think that would be wise. Last time I took an Ambien I pissed in my closet. Wife was furious. I told her to be happy that I didn't piss on her. She was not amused. At all.

Florida people aren't used to bad weather like folks up north. I hear they cancel school when it rains:D

I've watched the weather down here for years and seen many a day like today, in Florida when its dull overcast with lil wind an misty It stays that way all day. Keep in mind under the best of conditions it takes 1 1/2 - 2 hrs to dry the track and pit road. Right now NASCAR's just shooting for a Green Flag and not expecting to run a full race.....Thats Not what Fans want or Paid for.

I know , but I think they gotta try to get it in for the fans who are staying.

I heard this loud and clear, what's so confusing?

I was watching HLN, and they had this to say from NASCAR: We will wait until 8 or 9pm to start this race today if it is possible to get it in.

It happens to the best of us.

If anybody can get the rain to hold off , it's gotta be Mitt Romney , somebody get Mitt back.

The NASCAR rep on Sirius this morning stated that they could start the race as late as 8-9pm like you heard. He said that the decision on that has to come by 5pm. He said @ that time of the day it will take at least 3 hours to dry the track with the equipment that they have available.

Moe Joe peed in a closet?

No, but I saw my buddy piss in a clothes basket full of nice clean clothes. Poor sucker.

Another time I saw a friend of mine sleeping on a couch. He "woke up" and dropped his trousers, in a 5 million dollar house belonging to some very important people in Michigan. Then he emptied the entire contents of his beer stretched bladder.

The whole time me and another guy were yelling at him, trying to wake him up. All for nothing.

It's just a bad situation :( I hate it for the Fans who spent tons of money to see a good race and did'nt get to. I also feel sorry for the fans that are staying in the Hope of seeing some racing I doubt we'll see it but even if they do it won't be at it's best.
And yes lucky for me if they dry the track and get ready to throw the green I can be there in about 10 minutes.
