Is there a bigger idiot out there?

I may be spelling his name wrong, but Bill Mahre (as in Politically Incorrect with Bill Mahre) is one of the biggest idiots I have ever seen in my life. But he thinks he is brilliant, which makes him even more dangerous.

I saw this idiot on the Tonight Show last night. Jay asked him what he thought about the airlines getting money from the government to stay afloat after what 9-11 has done to the travel industry. Bill said "I think it is just another example of Corporate Handouts, don't ya think?". He then went on to say that "the dirty little secret is that we don't need airlines". He went on about how most travel is business related and that business people don't need to travel anymore because of phones, faxes, emails, computers, teleconfrenceing, etc. He said that the only reason people travel is to cheat on their spouses. Thanks for clearing that up bill ;)

Now...(as I clear my throat)

Where does he get off deciding whether the entire country should be free to fly wherever they want?

Is he really stupid enough to believe that ALL business travel is unnessesary? Even if most of it is unnessesary, isn't freedom of choice a basic fundamental of American Life?

Is he really stupid enough to believe that business travel is the only reason for airlines to stay in business?

Does he realize that if all the american owned airlines go under that foreign owned companies will be flocking here in record numbers?

Would he really rather have all of the airlines we use owned by guys like Osama Bin Laden?

The biggest question this all brings up is...

Why does anybody even listen to this guy?

Maher is a liberal, but that doesnt make him an idiot, he at least debates these things unlike the supreme idiot Jeanine Garofalo.

why is it that the stars of yesteryears tended to be very patriotic (ex: Bob Hope), while today there is a trend to second guess the goverment (ex: Madonna)

Thats ok, they can talk all they want becasue its not like I hear them anyway. :salute:

Before we shut down all air travel...we need to load up one more plane with all these "Idiots" and drop them off at the country of there choice since they think this one is so freakin bad. I'll gladly donate to this cause. :salute:

It's nice to see this ass clown has got it all figured out for us. Gosh, I've only flown for business twice in my life and the last time was 7-8 years ago I think? I flew to California this year for a family vacation, last year flew to Charlotte for the Winston, two years ago flew to Orlando for Wally World & Speed Weeks & flew to Boston in July that same year to visit relatives & go to NHIS for the Cup race. :)

I wouldn't dream to claim that simply being a liberal makes him an idiot. That is only part of what makes him an idiot. He far exceedes the level of ignorance displayed by merely being a liberal. ;)

I've listened to Bill Maher when he was being interviewed by Joe Scarborough last night. I find some of his points rather interesting...

According to Bill Maher he said that "The war on terror was started because we were in a war with Al Qaeda". A very interesting quote which is also correct. The enemy we're supposed to fight is Al Qaeda was another point he noted. Very incisive, though I am in support of the war which is now virtually over; we were attacked by Al Qaeda and not Saddam Hussein, and I dont think the Bush Administration is really thinking that through.

The war we are supposed to fight is against terrorism in any form! While Al Qaeda is responsible for the 9-11 attacks, they are not the only terrorist group in the world. I don't know of anywhere in the world with more hatred for Americans than in Iraq. Hussein was entirely too angry and entirely too powerful to be left in power over there. After 9-11, I for one am all for being pro-active in this war on terrorism. If we have intelligence that confirms (or even strongly suggests) that Iran or anybody else is prepared to launch a terrorist attack, I am all for bombing the hell out of them before they can get us. And to say that Bush's administration is not considering something Bill Mahre has figured out is just plain foolish.

4xchamp I agree with you entirely. But the fact that Hussein was a dictator just doesnt give us a right to attack him; sure he abused his people; but even as ethically and morally correct as we are, we can't attack them for that reason alone. I sure hope we find WMDs soon; if we dont, I dont think Bush is prepared to tell lots of parents that their sons or daughters died for nothing.

Bush's popularity is totally inconsequential to anything.Doing what was neccesary is what is important.I totally hate war and warfare.A more logical solution could have been found.Sadly, force won out over logic.Fortunately, however, the end result was the same:A monster--and monsters--were brought down.

I was in operation Just Cause---the press later called it operation Just BE Cause---when another killer lunatic was made to answer for his crimes. We were right from a moral standpoint then,we are right from a moral standpoint now.
At least in regards to ending the reign of terror these savages had unleashed.

So Bush can hope for WMD's or not.It changes nothing. The madman is out.At least until another one replaces him. :(

Worth mentioning as well:No soldier in IRAQ has died for 'nothing'.Sad,tragic and horrible that any lives were lost, yes. But each soldier in that theatre died for a cause,a belief.Heroes each and every one. :salute:

Well um, my brother is shipping out to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky for Airborne training and then to Iraq mid-August. No, I'm not implying the soldiers died for no reason, they died for freedom and the liberation the Iraqi people and our protection but if Bush doesnt find an explanation for the WMD situation, then what we doing over there ? I mean, I've always supported the war up until now, I guess opinions change when it hits home and we find that the President may be at fault for this intelligence situation.

The intelligence snafu is troubling,no doubt about it.Highly weird to say the least with the death of David Kelley in the UK. :(

BTW,good luck to your brother.I speant my share of time at Campbell.Best of luck to him. :salute:

Thanks for your support and best wishes to my bro.

Anyway, Yes I would say the intelligence trouble is really hurting the adminstrations both here and in Britain. There's no doubt, the death of Mr. Kelley seems somewhat Fishy, especially when he was a very reputable and honored man in Britain from what I hear and had no intention of committing suicide. Before the years done, it may cost some jobs over there and over here. There's something unsettling about the situation in the U.K.
