Whizzer
Gig'em
Not when Whizzer tells it !!!
Starting a new thread on people and voting because IT IS that important.
In the early 1980's an elected county office holder had a constituent in his district who complained about everything from cows crapping on the road when they walked from the field to the barn for milking to cracks in the sidewalks along county maintained roads.
This guy was what is commonly reffered to as a "habitualbitcher".
For two years his complaints were listened to, thoughtfully, and on occasion he did have legitimate gripes. But one day he carried the complaining too far when he stated the elected official never responded to his grievances.
Since previous gripes did in fact get due attention depending on thier validity, he struck a nerve with the office holder who asked, "Bob, did you vote for me? Or are you just using me as your personal punching bag for everything you feel is wrong in the county?"
His reply, "I never vote. It doesn't make any difference".
The next time the county oficial met Bob on Main Street, he refused to listen to him gripe. The way he tells it, if Bob didn't care enough to vote and try to correct what he felt was wrong by way of the ballot box, he was only hurting himself.
The moral??
The only way to correct the wrongs you see in government today is to VOTE !!! If you don't like the person holding the office, vote against them because whether they win or lose, they get a message.
Could I interest you in another story with a moral?? OH WAIT !!!! It contains one of the seven things you cannot say on TeeVee. Sorry !!!!
