RCR threatened NASCAR will an official protest of Tony Stewart's win at WG if they didn't get a mid-season rule change to help them.

Asking for mechanical changes and getting them during the race season is about the equivalent of Babe Ruth complaining to the umpire that Walter Johnson throws the ball too fast. "I can't hit it, make him pitch softer!!!" Or John Stockton asking for the hoop to be lowered so that he can slam dunk too, just like Shaq.

It ain't going to happen in those two situations because they are real sports with real rules. And if you cheat in those sports you lose the honor of the title, you get stripped of medals, etc. Not NASCAR, in NASCAR the biggest whiners get the win.

So, is NASCAR really a sport? We complain about the MLB and how dare they go on strike. At least they're striking for money, as shallow as that is, and not going on strike to get rule changes for certain teams to help them win.

This weekend is why people call NASCAR the WWF.

I don't understand why you don't just stick to F1, IRL, and CART then. Why force yourself to watch such a non-sport?

Sorry, but I was under the impression that this subject had been talked to death already.

Would you have a link to this? I'd like to see it ....

Nascar is both a sport and entertainment. Childress whines and gets his.........that's entertainment. Childress fields three cars and none are really threatening to go very far this season......that's sport. I agree Nascar should stop making rules changes after the season starts but they don't.....that's the nature of series. It's aggrevating sometimes........but it's fun to watch the teams compete in spite of Nascar. The races are dynamic.......rules contribute to that.

I agree DE, constant rule changes are not right but this has gone on for as long as I have followed this sport.

Nothing, IMO.

But in whinebag Childress' opinion I guess everything. Well, enough to get a race fixed for him and his DEI buddies.

If the Chevys have a dangerous aero push at Michigan- what's wrong with asking to have it corrected just like all the other makes have???

And I still don't see what Tony's win has got to do with all this???

I'm waiting too......And saying that Childress is the only owner that whines is getting old too. You can't tell me that Rousch, Gibbs, Sebates and the rest don't complain about the rules.

Because Childress said he will start a full fledged, official protest of the win if he doesn't get a rule change for his cars.

Not true, because we see that Childress' holding his breath got him what he wanted.

Dude Childress is a total whinebag , everyone knows this.

NASCAR gave everybody else a longer nose except Chevy and they were the ones who needed it the most.....

I think NASCAR waited way too long on this one just because Chevy has been better at designing their free air aero packages....

Just because you're hitting more home runs than everybody else doesn't mean you have to hit yours 20 rows deep in the stands or they are only going to be ruled doubles....

And don't say "run what you brung" because NASCAR wouldn't approve the first Monte Carlo designs and made Chevy cut their nose to spite their face while the Taurus design got rubber stamped by NASCAR without tinkering......

So NASCAR needs to back off, not hand out races and try to manipulate outcomes.

Are we into the conspiracy thing again? Nascar's rule changing is nothing more than manipulating the results of the races? Do you really believe that?:)

If you don't think that this race is being handed to one of the RCR or DEI cars I've got some ocean front property to sell you in Arizona.

Wouldn't letting one make have an advantage be manipulating outcomes too???

NASCAR keeps trying to make the manufacturers equal without making them identical by "aero matching'....

But without common templates- they will be forever tweaking the noses and spoilers while the differences in the body styles is the problem....

But maybe this is exactly what NASCAR wants and needs to fill the stands and TV commercial time slots- controversy....

WWF/WWE anyone???;)

You mean this time, this race???

Who was whining at Daytona, at Richmond or at Atlanta???

And NASCAR couldn't fix a rainy day much less a race- you are giving them way too much credit.....:(

They aren't "fixing" the race. They are manipulating the competition due to the complaints of a select few.

Uh, yeah, that's what all officials of organizations do- it's part of their job.....

And nothing says they can't do it- it's their club, their game, their show, their rules....

And we can choose to watch or not watch, complain or approve- that's our right too....

Gotta run, later.... :)

Well damn you DEF...did ya have to ruin all the fun with some common sense? ;)

I still wanna see where you are getting your info!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where did you see that it was Childress "crying" for a change?!?!?!

the question was is this a sport or entertainment...............isn't a sport suppose to be entertaining?????????????????

Yeah all sports are entertainment, But I would guess that Is THIS sport for real athletes which I would 100% say that it is.
