Is this normal?

So, in our dorms, we have rockband set up right next to the main entry door from the public hallway.

Is it normal for people to hear the ratta-tat-tat of the drums, and expect to be let in to play?

The most people we've had in here was 12......most invite themselves, and spectate if they aren't playing.

I wouldn't know --- I attended college back in the day when the girls' dorm was locked at 10PM --- and you had better be inside. We even had room check to make sure you were inside.

It's entertaining to say the least. Not quite to the packing 20 people in a 1978 VW bug, but it's still entertaining.

Same here, but they didn't room check the men's dorms. Or, for that matter the closets in the women's dorms...

We had an Open Door policy in our dorm room as along as you brought beer.
