Islamic extremist killed at least 50 and wounds at least 53 in an Orlando gay club last night.

Everybody is going to use this incident for their own agenda. The anti-second amendment whack jobs are going to say that this is why law abiding citizens should not have the right to defend themselves from people like this, even though if someone would have been armed and able to defend themselves many, many lives could have possibly been saved there, although we may never know. People are going to, probably rightly, point out that as a Muslim he was reported angered at seeing two men kissing two months ago and this started him on the path. All of that, however, doesn't change the fact that many people are dead and they didn't deserve to die and it is despicable that politicians will stoop to using an issue like this to their political gain by sowing even more discord instead of trying to heal our society even just a little bit.

Every mass shooting has one common ingredient. And that common ingredient isn't "Radical Islam

".

Tragic, innocent human beings killed for 1 small obscure difference in their life that harms no one and makes them happy, because someone doesn't agree with it. Disgusting.

I really am feeling for the families tonight.

So how was he able to purchase the guns? Co-workers and ex said he was nuts.

There will be plenty of time for politicizing this tragedy and hearing the same old arguments from people on different sides but for now my heart goes out to those who lost friends, family and loved ones. I can't imagine the pain that parents and grandparents of the dead are going through.

This is why I keep my thoughts and beliefs to myself. This was a heinous crime committed by a human being on other human beings.
Religion/sexual orientation/political beliefs do not matter. This was a mass murder.
The pain and suffering that the families and friends are feeling right now are of paramount importance.

Nothing was able to be proven? No one cared? Shooter was a apparently a certified and trained armed private police/security officer for a company that does a lot of contract work for ICE, DHS, DOE, BOC, etc. They do prisoner transports for state and fed and provide the guards for most of the nuclear facilities in the country, among other things.

For my podium level answer to being called a whack job please see my related comment in the podium.

Another day another senseless tragedy. there were red flags pointing from every direction towards this guy and he still succeeded in carrying out his sickening agenda.

I can remember being shocked by the killing of 21 people at and around a McDonald's south of San Diego 32 years ago but nothing shocks or surprises me these days. It isn't a matter of if the next mass killings occur but when and how many more will we have this year.

First one I can remeber was the Texas college shooting back in 1966. I was 12, it made a lasting impression on me.
