Rained 1.5" 15 miles south of us. We, once again, didn't get a drop and the record drought continues.

Next week is going to be much cooler though, high 80s-low 90s instead of triple digit heat.

We need a tropical storm, where's hurricane season?

Rained most of the day here. We sure do need it too. Where you from Andy?

Got almost an inch yesterday afternoon --- but NONE today! Hurray !!

And, MrTRL finally got the backhoe out of the mud where it has been stuck for almost a month!

Well I was at a pig picking and the brief shower we got was a welcome relief from the heat.
And, actually it wasn't a real pig picking. These 2 guys are thinking about getting into bbq competition and they invited some friends over as taste tasters and critics. Whole pig pulled and chopped with different sauces they concocted, ribs 3 different recipes, chicken 2 types and 2 of brisket. Probably a half dozen of adult beverages to cleanse the palate.
Good friends, good friends...

Wettest July in history for the city of Victoria. The Guadalupe River has come out of its banks 3 times now this year. The aquifers in Austin & the Texas hill country are also getting recharged.Hope some of it finds the eastern part of the country because we have been saturated for three months now.

Storming
10 miles to the north; Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

We're just getting thunder.

It misses us entirely, AGAIN!

We're getting rain right now. I dont' want to gripe about the rain, but come on! In two months we've gotten over 16 inches of rain.

I've had 21 inches at my house since July 1st. Normal yearly rain for Victoria is 30"...we're already at 56" as of today for the year !!!

It seems like it has been raining here a lot lately, but the grass is still mostly brown and the news says we are down quite a bit from normal. Maybe it just rains when I am out driving around and making sales calls.

North Texas was over the yearly rain total in MAY! Our local area lakes, some that were down 10-14' are now over their average depth. Not by inches, but by feet!
