It Would Be So Sweet If Kevin Won RCR A Championship On His Way Out.

be a great way to leave RCR Winning Richard a Championship now I know we got some work to do to run up there with the 20 & 48 every week but still I'm pumped from last night and Think Kevin can get it done.

As a Harvick fan, would be cool. Would also remind me of Keselowski winning a championship for Dodge in their last year in Cup.

A couple weeks ago the thread was, what was wrong with RCR racing. blab like third tier team, in financial trouble, blah blah blah. what a difference a win makes..now it is time for the Harvick is making a mistake moving to SHR next year thread.o_O

Is this a bandwagon ? Where can I get on? Do you have any beets ?

RCR still isn't an elite team, but I think that says more about Harvick's abilities as a driver.

It's not? two cars out of three in the top ten..you have your idea of elite and I have mine I guess. That is better then Rousch and Gibbs and Waltrip at present. Don't forget Manard's abilities as a driver, much better than RCR racing also, he is right behind Harvick in the points right now.o_O

It would be cool, but I don't think RCR can compete for a championship with what they have.

HMS and JGR are still the class of the field at this point.

I'll become a believer in Menard if he can win a race and make the Chase. It's still early to make a sound judgement on him this season.

I think Harvick and *maybe* Menard if he gets lucky can make the chase. Whether they will do good in it is a different matter.

That said I would love to see them take one on the way out.

Harvick's lucky to even win a race ot two, much less a championship.

No. It wouldn't.

I'd rather Harvick sat the rest of the season out, personally and Kenseth can join him!

I dont think RCR as a team has the equipment or hardware, and they have not had it for years going back at least to 2010. You have to dominate and be able to dominate for a string of races. Harvick the closer gets most wins by strategy or over acheiving. That's good, but to win titles you have to be more consistent.

RCR never did get the multicar teams to work, even when Dale was there. They are always one step behind now.

Something that hasn't been brought up about Harvick leaving Childress, I have heard it is to make way for the grand kids, but it might be because of his wife Delana. She ran his racing operation, and moving to SHR she will have a position there I bet. She is sharp and grew up at a racetrack, ran a racing team, so she knows the ropes and would make a stronger team at the administration level. the boy would probably have a place in the office.:) He is not going to lay down because he is a lame duck at Childress that's for sure.

Part of that was because that turd Mike Skinner was the other driver at RCR in those days.

During the two years that Skinner did run the full season as Earnhardt's teammate @ RCR, Skinner finished 10th & 12th in points while Earnhardt finished 7th and 2nd. Neither Skinner or Earnhardt were exactly 'Young Guns' at the time so I'd consider those finishes respectable. It's true enough though that RCR's best years were as a single car operation.

Skinner and Earnhardt were actually teammates for four full seasons (1997-2000). Skinner had a few DNQ'S in '97 and '98, but still attempted every race. Age could have had something to do with it, but in those four years, Earnhardt won 6 races with an average points finish of 5.5, and in the previous four years (1993-96), he won 17 races and had an average points finish of 2nd.

My point was that he only ran all of the races for two seasons and during that time those were their stats.

And his point was that Skinner and the #31 team ATTEMPTED all the races in '97 and '98 but failed to qualify for a few.

there are doing better now. Harvick and Manard are solid in the top ten at the moment, Manard and Burton don't push very hard to win, like Kevin does. But they are having one of their better years. Manard has improved his finishing position the last couple of years, Burton has pretty much ran top 20's for a while. Harvick doesn't have that great of finish average either, around 16th the last three years, but he jumps up there and wins when he has a chance to push it. Be interesting what he does with Hendrick power next year.
