I can't believe that someone actually sits and counts all of this stuff but I thought some may find this interesting.....

Kyle Busch Is 'Most-Mentioned' NASCAR Driver In Early Portion Of 2011 Season

Does it feel like you've heard a lot about Kyle Busch during this season's NASCAR broadcasts on FOX?

Well, according to the media analysis company Joyce Julius, you're right. As of the Martinsville race, Busch has been mentioned and interviewed more than any other driver during Sprint Cup races – and it's not even close.

Busch's name has been mentioned by FOX broadcasters 1,221 times so far – a whopping 482 more mentions than second-place Jimmie Johnson and more than twice as often as Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Busch has also been interviewed 11 times – tied with Kevin Harvick for the most; but the length of Busch's interviews (14 minutes) is nearly four minutes more than the next-closest driver.

After Busch and Johnson comes Jeff Gordon, followed by Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards and Earnhardt Jr.

Not included on this list? In a mild surprise, Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne and upstart Paul Menard didn't make the cut.

Here's a look at the chart released by Joyce Julius on Monday:

Kyle Busch: 1,221 mentions
Jimmie Johnson: 739 mentions
Jeff Gordon: 735 mentions
Tony Stewart: 656 mentions
Carl Edwards: 642 mentions
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: 557 mentions
Kevin Harvick: 557 mentions
Denny Hamlin: 447 mentions
Kurt Busch: 424 mentions
Ryan Newman: 416 mentions

It's actually someones job to count that. That's insane but I guess necessary if their sponsors want to make sure they're getting their moneys worth.

Wow that is crazy. But I guess it makes sense from the sponsor's perspective.

So does this article count as a reference:rolleyes:

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of all mentions by each network when the season is over. Fox caters a lot to Kyle Busch, Junior, and Jeff Gordon, ESPN caters a lot to Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson, and TNT seems to keep it fairly even by letting whoever is running up front getting the mentions. But it would be interesting to see this at the end of the year to see if this is the case.
