Enjoy the race everyone! Let's hope the weather holds off for awhile.

Lap 13 Vickers explodes left front tire and schreads front fender.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

MY STUPID CABLE WENT OUT DURING THE BURN OUTS. THIS "BUDDY THING" ON SPEED ONLINE BETTER WORK. DOESN'T START TO 9PM EDT. JUST MY LUCK!!!!! My friend has been sending me emails to keep me up to date. Not quite the same as watching, through! The cable company says WE have a problem and they'll be out between 12-4 tomorrow. I could see my neighbor watching his TV next-door. At first I thought it was because of storms in the area, but nooooooooooo... it has to be just OUR cable.

I just don't get it. Why the lack of hands over hearts duing our National Anthem? I just don't get it. Never have, never will. It just doesn't look right.

I'm not saying what is technically proper or improper. I grew up with the tradition that you put your hand on your heart for the Pledge of Allegiance ONLY. You put your hands at your side or on your back for National Anthem. I'm not sure if there is a geographic or cultural preference/acceptance for one way or the other.

That's what I was taught too, I stand at attention for the anthem, would salute if in military uniform.

Tell her I said a BIG THANK YOU!! :)

Who said that MRN has LESS commercials than TV? Are you kidding me? It's ALL COMMERCIALS and 2 min. at the most of racing. This is driving me NUTS!!!!!!

So I can watch the race from the inside of either Tony, Jeff, Junior or Kyle's car. I can't see the whole track. Oh well..better than nothing I guess.

So how did that work out for ya? I read on Twitter he ran back to his hauler to pout. I was hoping Tony would put him into the wall after the crap he pulled going 3 wide with Jeff and Ryan. He didn't win any points with me tonight that's for sure.

It looked to me like the 24 creeped up into Kyle. I'd have to say that was Gordons fault for wanting the whole track.

That is what I thought also. I looked at the reply several times and Jeff is the one who up the track.

Sorry, that was Gordon's fault. He wanted to use the entire racetrack and drove in to Kyle.

Sorry to you too, but not from where I was sitting. Those cars were coming right at me so I had a great view. This will sound terrible, but in my view, I'd almost put the blame on Ryan, but it was just plain good racing. We saw Ryan really moving forward on the backstretch and people were really hootin' and hollerin' and watching what was about to happen. Even Jeff said that it was just racing. The one thing that did disappoint me was that of the three cars involved, it was Kyle who survived.

Even on TV it was pretty plain to see that it was a "racin' incident". When you go 3 wide things usually happen.

Well, you know us race fans, there comes a time when our driver can do no wrong and it's always the other guy's fault. It always hurts when your favorite gets taken out for one reason or another, but such is life on the track.

Ryan was on the top of the track and had a car width between him and Kyle. How can you blame that on Ryan.

As I posted up above, my cable was out and I was watching the All-Star Buddy, listening to the radio and reading posts on various sites. I've watched the videos today. (BTW - It wasn't my cable co.'s fault, it was my husbands! He was pulling vines off the side of the house and accidently cut the cable line!!! Arggh! At least they came and fixed it today!)

Anyway, from what I can see from the video, Ryan pushed Kyle past Jeff and they were 2 wide. Then Ryan came around Kyle. They bumped some and Kyle came down the track and then Jeff came up. Earlier Kyle had made it 3-wide with Kenseth, I think. Jeff has more class than I do.. LOL Ok, so it was a racing incident and I'm sure it was exciting to watch. I have to wait for the replay to watch the whole race. I just have to wonder what Kyle would have said had it been him on the bottom who got spun out. Think he would have said it was just a racing thing or blamed everyone including his crew, the weather, the fans.... of course the other drivers... because Kyle does no wrong. I'm surprised he doesn't throw his mother under the bus, too! :D Because he didn't finish well, he did run off to his hauler and wouldn't come out. I still say he needs to grow up, esp. after his interview after finishing 2nd in the truck race. He just doesn't endear himself to me when he talks like that.

From this video, you can see Ryan push Kyle past Jeff and then come around Kyle. Towards the beginning you can see Kyle come down some and then Jeff come up some. They just lose their air when they do that. Later on in the video, there's a better view where you can see that Ryan did bump Kyle and he moved down so that's why there was so much room between those two. Jeff came up right after Kyle came down. Obviously that didn't work. ;)

And yes, I do have a bad attitude when it comes to Kyle and anything involving him and someone else wrecking, esp. a driver I like. At least I can admit I'm that way. So there!! :p

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Your husband was doing work instead of the race?

Man card, turn it over!

Actually you are wrong. The United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10 (commonly known as the Flag Code) states:

§ 171. Conduct during playing

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.

Basically the US Code (Titles 4 and 36) specifies four circumstances for rendering the hand-over-heart salute for those not in uniform:

1. When the US flag is raised or lowered
2. When the US flag is carried past in a review or parade
3. When reciting the pledge of allegiance
4. When the national anthem is played

I hope this helps...
