Jack Roush blasts FOX/ESPN

It's not the lack of enthusiasm I have complaints about, it's the fact that the TV audience rarely sees all the passing and competition. We get what the networks deign to show us. I get tired of seeing the same 5 or 6 cars the whole race.

I think Jack needs to focus more on getting his cars to compete and less on what's going on in the booth. JMO.

Oh, contrare, Andy. I totally agree with TRL!!
Unfortunately, since ABC and shuffled a lot of their coverage to ESPN, the TV viewing audience will suffer. Lots of folks won't have the service that provides ESPN just as Versus went. We cannot get Versus now since Cable owns them.

BTW, I beem MIA cause I losted this dern link!!!!

That is what ticked me off more than anything. When a guy has a 5 sec. lead on the field, why keep showing that guy over and over when there isn't a car anywhere near him? Thats why nascar doesn't have more of a tv audiance and people, like my wife, say "all nascar is are cars going around in circles". Well when thats all the network shows then that is what people think.

we all are just going to have to admit, the sport and coverage ain't what it was it the 80's and 90's

it's more entertainment now and less real racin

I agree 100%, the sport has changed as well as the coverage. That can be said about most every sport. Maybe I'm one of the minority but I have just as good a time today going to a race as I did 20 years ago. I don't have trouble finding good racing on the track. That same thing can't be said for television. The have a lot of trouble in that respect. Like has already been posted, they tend to focus on the front of the field only even when there is racing going on behind them. In the past the focus seemed to be more on the racing than the personalities of the booth. I didn't have the distractions of gophers popping their heads out of the track or some other crap walking across the screen to advertise their 9:00PM time-slot. No copyrighted catch phrases to begin each race either. It used to be about the racing.
