Villeneuve was recently seen testing a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series car with Miguel Duhamel and 2007 series Champion Andrew Ranger at Autodrome St-Eustache. He has been running the Speedcar Stock car series in the middle east for the past year so it wouldn't be too suprizing to see him run some Canadian Tire Series events. Other big name drivers that have run in the series in recent years include Patrick Carpentier and Alex Tagliani.

Villeneuve was an awesome Indy-style racer. I enjoyed watching him race. I hope to see him back in the top-tier of a(ny) racing series soon.

I was really hoping he was going to do well when he came to NASCAR. He's a sentimental favorite of mine since I saw his father win the F1 Grand Prix. He was like a rock star at the time. When he was killed in practice a few years later, I lost a lot of interest in racing for a long time. :( I'd like to see Jacques get back into something, too.

I dont think anyone thinks as highly of Cale Gale as you do.

I too think Cale Gale has far more talent than he can use in CASCAR.

At least put him in CW East or West Series, although I'd rather he run ARCA.

CASCAR has some pretty tough competition, but I agree that Camping World or ARCA would be better for a NASCAR development driver. I saw another article about Gales Canadian Tire Series deal, he will be running 6 races although his team will be running some other events with another driver. The reason he has this deal is the owner of the team is the President of Rheem Canada. I guess Rheem Canada wants a CASCAR, might as well get one of their Rheem drivers from the US. It's still a pretty good deal for Cale, better to run CASCAR than nothing.

I hope the car is better than it was the few times I saw it run in the past. It is the #13 and the other driver is Nik Lapcevich. I saw Nik drive the #13 car before and it was terrible.

Not trying to start anything, but his father was a Gawd darn idiot who endangered everyone he drove against until it finally caught up with him. I'd sooner be a passenger in a car doing the entire Daytona 500 side by side against Dale sr than a single lap anywhere on the same track as Gilles.

Update on this, he is confirmed to be running the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Autodrome St-Eustache on July 11.

I hope he sticks around long enough to run the race at Cayuga.

umm??? Where have you been? There will be no Canadian Tire race at Cayuga or any racing period. That place is closed. There has been a lot of discussion about Cayuga in the ARCA forum in the Cayuga thread and Music City/Mansfield thread. ARCA was the big race at Cayuga this year and they just cancelled it.
