Yet another idol of mine from my teenage years has passed on. Watched this guy make countless laps at my home track in Escanaba. He won one track Championship in 1977 and this past summer he won a feature in the Vintage UP modified series. Thanks Jake. Go join the other guys who have gone before you and Race On.
 
I never met Jake but I know a bit about him.

He was part of a group of guys and gals who raced fast, frail cars, fought bulls and climbed mountains while silently believing they were invincible.

RIP, sir.
