Honestly I think the reason he won at Charlotte is because he had great equipment in a car that dominated that race the year before and was put with a team that was in championship form, so with that said, with him joining this new team of his, new crew, new sponsor, almost new everything, i think it may be tough for him to become a success. Tell me what you guys think?

;)
I don't think Jamie is going to be a Newman or Johnson, or for that matter I don't think he'll hold a candle to Gregg Biffle.

yeah thats what i am thinking as well. I think Biffle is going to have a good consistent year. It may not be full of poles or wins like Newman or Johnson but i do think it will be consistent

well, he used marlins equipment while he subbed, and crew. this wont be happening now. so he will have an interesting season but not as great as his start last year.

I think the win was a fluke of sorts. He's a good driver, but it'll be awhile before he competes consistently for wins IMO.

I don't think he is as good as what everybody thinks of him. He needs to use his own setups now.

Brand new team too...I think he's gonna struggle a little.

He is a good driver. But I think he will struggle. He won a race in a car that was first class equptment. and a set up for Marlin. He wont have that in 2003.

I'm with the rest of you. He'll be with a new team, and having to establish communication with that team. He's going to hit some rough stretches, most definitely.

I think that he and Biffle will have a good battle for ROTY. I think Jamie will win a couple races as well. He may leave with ROTY. So basicly he will continue what he did in 2002

I think Biffle is going to have a great year. Biffle was having some very good runs with a petty car, no offence. I think he just has a hard time saving the car towards the end.

I tend to believe that the win by Mcmurray was a win more by the team and the car set-up. We'll see how he does next year. I don't think he will flop, but he won't be anything spectacular either.

as long as marlin can step back in the #40 Coors Light Dodge and win a couple of races (maybe even a championship) i'll be happy.

I see Jamie doing pretty much what Kevin did.......spectacular start, followed by the real world. Equipment, team, hype and adrenoline play into it at first, then the real work starts and we get to see what the kid's made of. I think he will do okay, but I don't see him competing for a Championship like a couple of rookies did this last season. Show promise? Yes. But, it'll be a couple years before he's a top contender.

I believe it may be a typical Freshman Year, "Getting to know you, getting to know all about you".

Once they work together, learn how to communicate, etc. Jamie will be a force to be reconed with, much more than Mears.

But, still no ROTY...I believe that will go to Greg Biffle.

Newman and Johnson had incredible backing, performed with consistancy, and the points proved it.

Remember when Kenny Irwin made his debut in the sport? He drove a specially prepared #27 car that was supported by Robert Yates. Kenny Irwin made a great debut, but his career faultered when he joined his new team. Jammie McMurray is going to have a similar disadvantage (ironically with the same sponsor). He's going to have a new team, that although will be a part of the same larger team, will consist of new crew members that he is going to have to gel with. He's going to have a lot of pressure on him to perform after his success in the #40 car, and let's just hope that the success doesn't undermine his success in '03.

It will be interesting to say the least. New car, new team and new learning curve. If you really believe that he will win a couple of races, you have got to be smoking some loco weed.

Its going to be hard for him because now everybody expects him to win off the bat because of his 2nd start wonder win. In my opinion, winning that early will hurt him.
