Japan F1 race.

I'm not too good with Japanese geography, but I'm pretty sure the track is in Mie Prefecture which is far south of it. They probably didn't feel anything major. Motegi(the Indycar track) is probably closer, i think its in Tochigi Prefecture, which is north of Tokyo, but it might be near the damaged area.

No mention in my two sites for F1 news, The Paddock.com and Sky Sports.com.As soon as I see something I'll post the link. The track isn't near any of the damage sites, to the best of my knowledge but how the country will view holding the race is something which I can't predict.

Suzuka was too far south to get damage, the only concern now would be radiation. But, the race is in October, definitely would be way early to even think about cancelling it. However, the MotoGP race at Twin Ring Motegi was postponed due to damage at the track.

I'm sure there is little to no danger of radiation and the damage is pretty minimal, if there is any at all. My first thought is will Japan be in a financial and operational shape to host an F1 event?

As you say, October is a long way off and we'll have to see how it all plays out.

agreed. The $$$ factor alone would be the big question mark.
