Shannon Tweeden interviewed Jeff Gordon for The Fox "Best Damn Sports Show"

She asked him the question: What is next after Nascar?

His answer was: F1

He will hopefully get a chance to test a Formula 1 car next year at Indy. BMW is still trying to get Jeff and Juan Montoya to switch rides for a test next season since they had a conflict in there schudeles this year.

I hear that but I'm wondering if it is actually a test or just a publicity ride like the one Sarah Fisher had at Indy last week. She never did get the car up to full song!

I wonder if they will actually let Jeffy do a full out Test to see what he can really do in the car!!!!!!

From what I have read it is going to be a one day test for by Gordon and Montoya. I think it is up to the drivers on if they go full speed on the indivudal tracks or not.

Did not see the interview and have not seen the quote.

First impression, Is there any racing after NASCAR for Jeff? Don't thnk so, but I would have to hear the question in context.

The F1 tests (using the term lightly) for both Sara and, if it ever hapens, for Jeff are to attempt and get interest levels up in the US for Formula One racing. The attendence at Indy has been reported to be dropping steadily and TV rankings are faring little better.

I think Jeffy might want a big paycheck that he might be able to get in F1 (now that Brooke has taken at least half of his stuff and she couldn't touch what he will make in F1)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt he can be competitive in that sport, I said this before and again I will say I could be wrong because I can't seem to find a link for it. But I remember watching a f1 special on speed and they had tony stewart and some other busch driver testing f1 cars, and the success tony has on open wheel cars if they dont want him I doubt jeff would do any better.

As far as I'm aware of Tony Stewart never had an F1 test. I could be wrong. He doesn't even mention it in his book and he does talk about other tests that he had?

I'm not sure how Jeff would fare in Formula 1. But, I truely don't think se will ever find out. He wants to break King Richard and Dale's records of 7 cups more than anything in the world right now. If things fall the right way, he may have 5 in the bag in a few months. How could he turn his back on that opportunity?
