My friends and i have a poll on wether or not Jeff Gordon will switch over to Formula 1. My friends think that if he does not win the championship this year he will go to F1.

A couple of weeks ago he was testing for a F1 group in Spain and before he even came to NASCAR he almost went to F1. We know he likes to drive those kinds of cars. Some people think that F1 is more competitive.

So do u think that he will make the jump to F1 if he does not win the championship this year???

I thought it had a life long deal with Hindricks and Dupont in the#24 car. (well i heard that on some nascar show)

More competitive? for what? for who will pull over for Michael schumacher. Ferrari has the most money and the is what wins races in F1.

After one of his recent wins, Jeff did an interview with Ian Gold and he stated although it was fun to test the car, he has no interest in going over to F1. Not that he couldn't change his mind, but I don't think F1 is as competitive.

On any given sunday you have 20 cars that could win in cup, but you have 3 that could win in F1.

Jeff Gordon to F1... That would be great. Then we wouldn't have to see is face in the US but once a year. That would be great for everyone....!!! Then he could start an F1 Team and take Kurt Busch with him. I am sure he would love to race in F1. Hmmmm who else could we get out of NASCAR to F1? Hmmmm let me think... Maybe bring Jimmy Spencer... BOY THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!!!

As mentioned earlier,Jeff Gordon does have a lifetime contract signed in 1999,He owns part of the #24 and is listed as the car owner of the #48 car,is 32 years old, soon to be 33(Aug.4),has made over $60,000,000.00 at the Cup level, more than any other driver in history has.
As much as some ABGr's would love to see Him move on to another Series,it wont happen,so dream on :p
btw,it's Hendrick's Motorsports,not Hindricks.

NO NO NO! Jeff will NEVER leave Nascar. I absolutely FORBID it. So there.

This is soooooooooooo silly!!!!
If ya don't have something interesting to post, make up something
and start a big ole rumour.

Jeff didn't "test" F-1 in Spain. He went to see the race and
just play "fan" like the rest of us do at NASCAR races.

He and JP Montoya played car switch for the media at Indy several
weeks ago, and Jeff stated both there and in Spain that he has no
intentions of leaving NASCAR.

Oh,OK,not the first time I've been confused :D

Perhaps Hendrick is considering an F1 team. I can see Dupont getting involved in that. Gordon would still be fulfilling his contract...although they're going to have to make some drastic changes to #24 chevy. ^_^

I guess they'd need a second driver - Robby Gordon, maybe.

My honest opinion... I think F1 racing sucks. There is no point in it at all. It's nothing but follow the leader and if he isn't leading (Michael Shu.), pull over for him. It's all a big waste of good money.

Did anyone happen to see the replays of the Ferrari pit crew not being quite ready when Barrichello made a stop? I guess it was apparent that he was on a 2 stop stategy and would've easily beaten Schumacher.

This may have already been posted and I missed it...if so, disregard.

Gordon to F-1......to WATCH: Jeff Gordon is heading off to Barcelona, Spain, planning to catch Sunday's Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix [Speed Channel 5/9 at 7:30am/et]. Don't think this is an indication Gordon has plans or intentions to climb behind the wheel of the world's greatest open-wheel car. "I'm too old to go Formula One and start all over again," said Gordon. "After driving that car for one day, I realized what kind of dedication it would take to start from scratch to learn all new tracks, all new cars, all new people and take my whole life in the U.S. and move to Europe." Gordon swapped cars with F1 racer Juan Pablo Montoya last year at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Gordon drove Montoya's Williams-BMW car; Montoya drove Gordon's Dupont #24. "After that test, we started talking about going to the Barcelona race," Gordon said. "Who better to call to get credentials and hospitality passes than Williams and BMW?"(Patriot News)(5-7-2004)
