Jeff Gordon wins at Martinsville!

 Well, congrats Jeff. This should make everyone happy who wanted the best car to win, because Jeff was the class of the field today.

Great way to finish the race :D

I don't think he had the best car but he won enough said

Jeffy wasn't the one I wanted to win. But he did have one heck of a car. At least it wasn't Newman. :D

Led the most laps, others may have been faster on fresh tires at the end, but when on equal ground, Jeff had the best car.

I think Gordon did have the best car. He rocketed away in the first stages of the race, hung out in the top 10 all day and then had enough to get back to the front near the end.

There were others like the 97, 8 and 29 who could ride to the bottom and had good bite off of the turns and had good cars but circumstances didnt go their way.

He won the pole. He led over 300 laps and won the race. I would have to say he had the best car. :D

Did'nt jr. pass gordon earlier in the race, I think jr. was the only one that passed him like that, unfortunate that he got a bad set of tires towards the end.

Dammit!!!!!! Now I can't go back to Martinsville. I finally miss a fall race and Jeff Gordon picks that one to win. It sucks to realize that my presence is what was jinxing him

Oh well, there are planty of tracks I haven't been to yet. ;)

Was a fun race to watch for a gordon fan that's for sure.

Good job Team 24

No calls to fire Robbie?
It doesn't matter to me if they fire him or not. He certainly hit the set up today, but that doesn't begin to make up for all the times that he is way off and spends the whole day trying to get even close to right. But that's not what today is for. :)

For some reason I'm missing the humor in this.

Sweet...I had to watch this race on a teeny tiney little casio TV ( I was at the Texans/Jets game). It's nice that his multiple wins per year streak gets to keep going. I hope his next win will be at Phoenix since I'll be there. I figure since he hasn't won there he's due especially as well as things are going for the 24 team lately.

 So am I.

Dude, I'd hate to break the news to you bro. But JG is a much more accomplished driver then Jr. If given the opp to take either I would always take JG over Jr. anyday. You do realize JG is only 63 points behind Jr. right? Yeah I was one of the first to bash JG but the guy really has earned my respect over the last couple of years. Yesterday make have been a different outcome if it had been a 550 lapper but you gotta deal with what your dealt. The fastest car at the end of a race does not always win. ;)

While watching the replay of the Martinsville race, it will be come quite apparent why Junior was not able to catch Gordon.

Junior made several errors in the last run and screwed himself. He might have had a faster car periodically, but Gordon's car was consistently fast all day long.

Sometimes it is just plain hard to give credit where credit is due. The name Earnhardt clouds some personal opinions where giving accolades to others comes into play. Not all, but some.

A helluva mouthful Whiz. Right as rain but this won't play well in Peoria. So with that said all I can say is this:

   ;)

For openers, all anyone who disagrees has to do is reread every post on this thread. There's them that gives credit to any driver or team when it is due and them that begrudges it, beating the bushes and always looking for the loophole of an excuse.

This may not play well in Peoria, but what the heck. I've had soundly boo'ed opinions that failed to play well in Cracker Azz, West Virginia and Possum Hollow, New Jersey.

As 71Fan is so fond of saying, opinions and mileage may vary.

Mostly it will depend on whether the shoe fits. :D

I'll give credit where credit is due, JG is a good race car driver, one of the best, but I have my opinion and I hate no I should'nt say hate, I dislike the man. I rather see jimmie j. or kurt busch win, anybody but JG, but I will admit he will win much more races and maybe another championship or 2 and as much as I hate to admit it he will win more races the jr. and probably more championships, but oh well I can always dream
