Jeremy Mayfield's House will be burned down

I long for the day that Mr Mayfield is forgotten, seeing his name and Nascar in the same sentence makes me ill

My bet would be that Jeremy stripped it when he got thrown out.

Guarantee you that is probably what happened. He took everything of any value out before the foreclosure I imagine. I dont think the house was completely finished anyway but it takes some effort to pull out all of the wire, floor covering, windows, ect......

Wonder where Jeremy is and what he is doing these days?

Hopefully, he can get all of his legal issues taken care of and get some much needed counseling and into a drug treatment program, otherwise he will end up in jail or on welfare for the rest of his life. I would much rather see him contributing to society, then draining from it.

The house was built back in the 1990's.A crackhead can pull wire and copper pipe in a heartbeat.

Whatever it was, the new owner figured it'd be best to start over.

It seems like the new owner just wants the land, so they had the house stripped for whatever cash they could get and will get a tax write off for fire fighter training.

Meanwhile, Jeremy is delusional and tweeting about rising up out of the ashes. What a waste of talent.

The article doesn't say whether the new owners plan to build another house or not, but it's not unusual for people with big budgets to prefer building their own rather than just moving into an existing house. Many times it's an ego thing - they want their own design and they want everything to be new and they don't want any attachments to previous owners. Sometimes they'll make exceptions if the previous owner was famous and they like him, but usually only if that notoriety brings extra value to the property.

When I worked in audio / video we often got contracted to tear out perfectly good equipment just because the new owner wanted to “update” – but really just wanted to brag about doing things his own way. I’ve been told that in California they tear down and build new mansions almost every day for the same reasons.

what in the world happened to that place does anyone know?? the area I live in has had plenty of vacant houses that went into foreclosure. its common for people to take applicances, light fixtures, door hardware etc, never the freaking exterior siding of the house. never the windows and drywall. was this stuff done while jeremy owned the house or prep work done to burn the place??

Sounds like the new owner did it according to Fender Bumper. I originally thought Mayfield may have stripped it out but it would be hard to do that much work so quick so I imagine FB is probably right about the new owner doing it. People do all sorts of things during a foreclosure but taking the drywall is pretty tough.

I dont tweet but what is he saying?

Hey Gone , welcome to the Nascar part of the forum . I see you've been around for a bit and dropped in on some other parts , hope to hear more from you on this one. If you have any extra audio equipment , I'm hoping to update my 8track player in the new year .:D

The thing that gets me about stuff like this is that there is no reason to completely ruin a guy over this. Let him pay the price for his mistakes and give him a chance again. I am NOT defending him but just saying. I guess he is banned from cup, nationwide and trucks? Doesnt seem fair to me.

I'll bet there is some ordinance against buring some stuff like siding . (toxic fumes maybe ?)

Crap , why can't I edit my posts anymore ? That should be bet not be.

he has and had the same shot as the others..complete the road to recovery program, but ol Jeremy kept saying he was innocent, and even threatened to sue Nascar..probably still had plenty of crack left to smoke. Now he has felony charges for theft that he is standing trial for on another matter. Jeremy is doing this to himself, yeah it is a tragedy, but it is self inflicted. I don't believe in kicking him when he is down, but apparently he isn't thru with screwing himself into the ground yet. Also, I commend Nascar for not cowing down and being consistent with their policy. Much better than any other sport I am familiar with that lets illegal drug use run rampant and only punishes the ones that get so out of hand they have to do something.

He brought it on himself by fighting it.If he would have went through the program he would have been back.

are you serious?!?!?! look the fact is jeremy mayfield is a nut case. look how different dinger handled his deal. to say this sport doesn't give second chances is far from accurate. are you aware of the shenanigans JM has been involved in?? theft of all sorts of stuff, the guy is a drug addict and a burgler. Thats not my opinion its fact. to lash out at nascar and the france family was about the worst possible thing to do. the guy could have just said look I messed up I am getting help, 3 mos later the guy could have been cleared to race. a truck or NW team would have loved to have him at the time. with the talent that was there he could have been back in a cup car probably no later than 2 years later. its also highly rumored he purposely wrecked one of evernhams cars at indy, not to mention it was bad ju ju to out your boss for having a relationship with another female driver and create the insuing drama. nut case is what JM is and probably involved with drugs for a LONG time before being caught.

Ahhh Jeremy Mayfield, I remember all of his problems started when he started complaining that Evernham was spending too much time with Erin Crocker & the tsunami was on from there. The article says he bought the house in 06, by that time he was already in the heat of his problems, I dunno what kind of thought process he had going on to think he had time & resources to resurrect a large home. Oh well, the house has to be torn down now because it's sat open to the elements for too long, the structure is just no good anymore. A fireman on scene says the house was built in the 90's so the original owners were some slobs to let the house get to the point where it had to be completely renovated before it was even 20 years old...

It got worse after that as he kept digging a deeper hole. He got lucky because his crack head robbery buddy flipped on him, but the rat buddy died from a police chase and couldn't testify so they dropped the charges.

Maybe not too lucky.....

Per jayski Mayfield is scheduled to go back before a judge early next month.

Jeremy Mayfield's $1.3M mansion to be burned down: A million dollar mansion once owned by former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield will be burned to the ground this weekend. Mayfield was evicted from the property last year after financial troubles stemming from a failed drug test in 2009 that banned him from racing. Channel 9 reporter Dave Faherty was the only reporter allowed in the house that at one time was valued at $1.8 million. The 12,000-square-foot house isn't worth that anymore and by Saturday afternoon, much of it will be gone. Everything in the seven-bedroom, seven-bath house is stripped down from the windows to the wiring. Neighbors said Mayfield tried to renovate the home, but when he was banned from racing and arrested for possession of meth and stolen property work on the home came to an abrupt halt. Catawba Fire Chief Donald Robinson will oversee the controlled burn. He said the new owners no longer want the home that is worth just over $300,000 dollars. Burning it will take it off the tax books while providing training for firefighters in the county. Mayfield told Channel 9 he has no plans to watch the home burn. Mayfield is scheduled to go back before a judge early next month where he faces several felony charges.()(12-13-2013)

I read all of those older articles way back when they were originally published. Heck, I wouldn't doubt that I had posted those links myself back in one of the many other Mayfield threads of days gone by. I'm too lazy to look and pretty much disinterested at this point.
