That sucks for his family and friends. It sucks too, that his son is running the Lakers organization that Jerry built right into the ground. He didn't hire Phil Jackson, the perfect choice when he fired Mike Brown earlier this year, simply out of spite. The team is circling the drain now, in large part because Mike D'Antoni was a horrible choice. D'Antoni doesn't grasp the concept of why playing defense is not really optional if you want to win.
