Does anyone know why Joe Gibbs wouldn't want Budweiser as a sponsor if Jr came over? Maybe I missed something or maybe I'm just out of the loop.

JGR does not espouse the use of spirits of any kind.

Petty's mom ask him to not have a beer on his car. They do not carry the Bud Pole award sticker.

Oh, okay. I figured it was something...actually, I thought it may have been something more serious like losing a loved one to drunk driving or something. I knew about the Petty's but do the JGR cars carry the Bud sticker? I think so because I remember them winning a pole or two last year.
Anyone else have special rules like that? I know that the Little Debbie's stuff can't be out on Saturdays or something, but anything else?

It's called Selective Christianity Betsy.

Joe Gibbs has been consistent in what he believes and has followed through with it. I have alot of respect Joe Gibbs. I respect the Petty's also for keeping with what they believe. The one thing, I don't understand, is why he (Gibbs) continues to put up with Stewart. :)

Me too. ;) Don't get me wrong. I have tons of respect for Joe Gibbs going back to his coaching days. I just have a hard time when folks start tossing around the Christianity thing to suit there needs.

There is a Chicken place

in this country that is closed on Sundays.. I wonder why he races on Sundays? Seems like if I was religious enough to not allow BEER on my cars I would not MAKE my employees work on Sundays.. But maybe that is just me.
Anyone here beside me that thinks he wears his religion on his sleeve?
Betsy

lets not get the petty's and gibbs confused here. The pettys are no beer all the way, no pole award stickers. Gibbs just has the pole award stickers.

I am not his judge!!!!

PETTY'S MOM. It was an outside example. Apparently Gibbs doesn't want a beer sponsor, but has no problem with his drivers winning a beer sponsored award.

LOL, Sorry TRL, the way it's worded led me to believe the Pettys mom asked JGR not to put it on their cars:owquitit:
