Jimmie Johnson

But ya know what? Seems that nobody cares about Jimmie. Boring, vanilla.

I asked before, "if Jimmie breaks the record, and nobody cares, is the record actually broken?"

Tell ya the truth I really don't know which I'd rather see happen, shrub or white bread putting him in the wall. Or a motor blow.

I know, bring back a Bodine. Doesn't matter which one, they hit everything:D

Y'all are giving up too easily. The Chase is far from over.

My opinion is that Jimmie is not the reason for the success of the 48.
John Andretti could win in the 48 with Chad as the crew chief.

I doubt that very much.

It is the right combination of everything.

Jimmie has the talent. Took him awhile to develop it to its fullness. But the crew chief, crew and all the money help too.

The car is 2mph faster than everyone else. Do you think that's driver?

Seems to me that I heard that some years back when it was said that the only reason a certain someone won was because he had Ray Evernham as a CC. After Ray left, his success wasn't nearly as good. However, his driver went on to win another Championship. I agree with Guido on this that the #48 team has a wonderful chemestry that allows it to quite possibly become the first team to win 4 titles in a row. If that isn't a dynasty, I don't know what is.

The thing that makes Jimmie so dangerous, is he uses all he has..... if the car is just a top 10, thats what he takes..... he is patient, and he trusts Chad all the way.... he knows Chad will make the car better, and he will use what he has, give good feedback, and get everythin out of it........ so yea, it is a combination of the two. Chad is one of the best in the business, and Jimmie has got tons of talent, and he has the patience to let Chad do his job.......

:einstein: :D

Jimmie could start this race 5 laps down and he'd pull a win out of his ass. there is NO WAY he doesn't win the championship this year. that team is a machine.

All i can say is his car better get the once over for being 2mph faster than everyone else, that is quite a bit!

Johnson isn't the most talented driver out there but I do think he is the smartest.

Of course, it doesn't hurt when you have the best cheater in sports on your pit box.

lol...... and that in a nutshell says it all...... Let's face it, Jimmie's dominance is hurtin NASCAR...... I mean if it was someone else goin for 4 in row, he would be puttin butts in the seats. Half there to see him do it, the other half to raise sand and pray he doesn't..... at this rate, he is not "not likeable" enough to reall hate, but too vanilla to get behind. So it just ends up bein a case of, well, Jimmie won again, whoopie do.......

Yeah Jimmy is just boring. It's no different than if Kenseth were doing it because they both are about as exciting as standing in line at the DMV.

Well I know I said we wont know who the contenders are till after Talledaga I guess it doesnt matter there all running for second place. Mark Martin is the only guy within a hundred points and Jeff and Tony are the only two that can mathematicly catch Jimmie in one race. Next week they go to Martinsvillie and I know Jimmie just loves that track as well I wouldnt be suprised if he dominated and had every other team over a race away in points :(

Jimmie, Chad and company are that much better than everyone else.

True, that team is a machine. Since he came to Cup in 2002, that team has not finished outside the top 5 in points. That being said, I hope he decides to retire soon so someone else has a chance.

I hate seeing him win as much as the next guy/gal but it is cool to witness history in this sport.

HEHEHEHE.

I think someone needs to check Stemmes family tree, I think he has some Bodine in him. It didn't take the ESPN crew 5 minutes to give Stemme praise before he slammed the wall.

Chances are JJ will win ALL of the final 5 races.

Bite your fingers! LOL I'm not giving up on the other drivers still within winning mathematically. Why should I bother watching if they're just going to hand the title to him now? Well, there is the fact that I'm a race addict and wouldn't be able to keep myself from watching if I really tried!

Seriously though, I hope Jeff is not such a "gentleman" like he was in 07 when he was fighting JJ for the win in the Spring. He said he was pissed, but he never bumped and ran and I think he's just got to get it into his head that he's going to have to MOVE HIM if he keeps blocking him this weekend.

The way I see it is, he might as well DO SOMETHING since so many people say they hate him. Give them something to talk about Jeffrey. heh heh :D

Do you really think Jeff would take out his own car.I don't think so.

No, I don't think he'd take him out -- as in hit the wall. But, if the title is on the line, Jeff is very good at the bump-n-run. ;)

This year Jeff might do it.

I'd like to see it. The last time they ran together coming up to the finish, they played too nice. We need some bumping and running, c'mon J&J!

Yes the best track to do this is next..MARTINSVILLE! AND I WILL BE THERE! Ok..so maybe I am a little excited LOL

Back on the topic at hand, I think Jimmie will win his fourth this year. However, I do not think he will win all of the last 5 races. He probably has a good shot to win this weekend, as he and Jeff are almost always the class of the field at Martinsville. However, I don't think Jimmie will win Talladega. He will probably then win one of the last three. More than likely either Texas or Pheonix. I would REALLY like to see Jeff win Homestead so that he will have won at all the tracks on the circuit right now.

I'm jealous.

I've always wanted to go there, but never have the time or money. Promise you'll eat a Martinsville Hotdog for me?

;)

This will actually be my third trip to Martinsville, was there this past spring and the spring of last year. And sorry guys, I won't be eating a Martinsville Hot Dog..I love Hot Dogs but don't like them at all LOL..I know, that is un-American in the Nascar world! lol

The only two tracks I have been to are Martinsville and Bristol. I actually like Martinsville better.

Someone mentioned not having the Money..they have actually lowered their ticket prices drasticly. The first time we went we paid 77 bucks each, this time tickets in that same section only two rows up are 45 bucks each. They even have some 25 buck tickets!

I've been there several times but it has been a couple years since my last time there. I agree on your Martinsville/Bristol thoughts. Bristol is certainly a great event but Martinsville has better racing IMO. And yes, ticket prices are great there too!

A Martinsville Hot Dog at a Martinsville race goes together like beer and pretzels or pepperoni and cheese. It's a must! If I remember right, I'm pretty sure they make you eat one before you are allowed in the gate.

I'm jealous too...... that is one track I have always wanted to go to, but so far haven't made it to...... did get to see Bristol a few years ago...... loved that place, but I wanna see Martinsville. Had a friend that was goin a few years ago to the Modified race, and I was goin with him, but seems like it snowed or somethin...... cant remember now, but somethin came up.
Short tracks are one of the places TV just doesnt do justice. It is amazin to see how fast they get around the place, even under caution. Its amazin to see the guys near the back of thefield pit, and barely stay on the lead lap under the yellow....
