Jimmie Johnson

If they can keep running as good as they did last weekend, then I think there is a very good chance it could happen.

I'm a big Jimmie fan but even I am prepared for someone else to win. Someone dominates for too long and it hurts the sport. Fans stop watching. I get it.

But still... as a Jimmie fan I will be estatic if he wins number 6. A guy I work with (who is a Tony fan) told me today "He might as well just win 7 in a row and get it over with so he is tied with Dale and Richard." He followed that up by saying he hopes Jimmie sucks after that and other people win.

I totally understand that a lot of fans are tired of him winning. Maybe those fans just aren't rooting for the right driver. :D

I would love to see another driver win the title this year but if the 48 prevails again, all you can do is tip your hat to Jimmie-Chad!

It certainly won't effect whether or not I watch and/or attend CUP races in 2012, either way.

JJ will shatter that record held by Dale SR and Petty.

He may, and I hope he does. But they said the same thing about Jeff Gordon. Jeff is not out of it yet but he is becoming closer and closer to being the next Bobby Labonte.

It is a 50/50 thing or maybe, perhaps.
Really still early in the chase, with 8 possibilities still left. Talladega is a wild card too, getting caught in a big one is sometimes beyond a driver’s control. I mean I would still bet on Johnson first, but I believe this chase is far from decided, and the most competitive one yet.

I believe that both Harvick, and Kyle Busch have matured some this year, and are quite capable of stepping up, but again I would still bet on Johnson perhaps, maybe he will get 6 in a row.

Remember you heard this bold decisive prediction here first.

I can see Kevin Harvick stepping it up and being a threat to Johnson's #6 this year, but Kyle? Nah. I think Kyle will have one or two bad races and implodes like he always does.

I'm not a huge jimmy fan. Really i like chad more. But i'd like to see jimmy win number 6. Like Kez said the other day the dude has won 5 in a row and never been picked to be the favorite. Its fun to be on top and everybody thinks you shouldn't be there. Makes you run that much harder.

Johnson has won something like 27% of all chase races held. And he has placed 1st or 2nd in over 45% of all chase races.

When I first read your post I thought you were smoking something illegal. I checked it out and you are spot on. What an impressive statistic.

I still want someone else to win it this year though.

Legend says that Chuck Norris taught Jimmie Johnson how to drive. ;)

Jimmie Johnson and the 48 team is a dynasty...plain and simple. I wouldn't mind seeing Jimmie be the one to finally beat 7 championships, I just would like to see someone else win one to give the sport a much needed boost.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Jimmie and now that Jeff is pretty much out of it, I am pulling for Jimmie, but I do see the importance of someone else winning. Out of the top few in the standings other than Jimmie, I would like to see either Kez or Harvick do it.....Kez would be awesome! What a story that would be....

It would be cool if Harvick won it, 10 years after he had to step in to Dale's ride.

It would be cool to see that too.....but then we would have a year of reading posts about how he sucks because it took him 10 years to win it. LOL Atleast it will be something to read i guess.

Those are some scary ass numbers! Nobody compares to him in this Chase format. I hope that those around him can step up their game to either keep pace or pass him. Someone, anyone, needs to dethrone this guy.
