Can it be? Is there a chink in the armor? Is this the beginning of the #48 team beating themselves? OK, OK, I know it was a rear axle that broke and I am jumping the gun here but luck is luck. These kinds of things are not supposed to happen to Superman, err ah, Jimmie Johnson. The pothole that opens up and bites his right front tire and the broken axle could be a sign of the times to come. Oh, and he's got that 'baby factor' thing going on this year too! LOL

By the way, I am trying to forget the fact that he finished 31st in last years Daytona 500 and came back to win the championship.

Yea, I think he had a few wrecks last year too...and still won the championship.

Until he's mathematically eliminated from the Chase (whichever year that is), I'm not going to say anything about it being the end.

He also wrecked in the Daytona 500 last year, and won the Championship. In my book, Johnson is the lock on his 5th in a row unless proven otherwise. Hamlin can talk all he wants about being a contender, but he needs to put up the wins and consistancy that Johnson does to beat him in the Chase.

Don't count him out, seems as soon as you do he gets better

I heard they tore down the rear end and found a pacifier in it.Question was is it Jimmie's or Jeff's.

Johnson is the man to beat and until someone steps up with some consistancy I don't see that happening.

Teams counting on the #48 crew beating themselves will yet again be disappointed.

How could someone even post this, we all know Jimmie always starts off slow & then turns it on towards the end of the year. If we get to the 2nd Phoenix race in the chase & he's in 10 in points, THEN we can talk about him possibly not winning this years title. For now though, HE IS STILL driver#1...

Jimmy almost never starts the year well. Give him a month or two and he will win his first race, come chase time he will be in a league of his own AGAIN.

My God! Now y'all are talking about the chase already here to? I suppose the next thread will be "if the season ended right now..."

Agh!
