That was funny to watch. It was also funny to watch JJ's expression when sportscenter played a tape of Brad's comments about the mind games. He said JJ's comments were self serving and didn't carry much truth because JJ was just trying to beat him. JJ was stone faced and it sure seemed to take him by surprise.

Here's the thing. All of JJ's comments seemed to be cetered on a 15th place finish not being a layup. Is JJ winning at Homestead a layup? He's never won there after 11 tries, so maybe we should be talking about Brad finishing 19th or better.

It also seems that JJ put a lot of pressure on himself to win 8 championships and be declard the best ever. The clock is ticking on his and Chads careers, and I think JJ knows he really needs this one. He just might crash again. :)

Fender, you sure can come with 'em. Romney may have actually won if he'd had you as his spinner.

It was certainly apparent that Jimmie's mind games weren't having an affect on Keselowski. Apparent as far as body language goes but who's to say what is going on in Keselowski's mind as the clock ticks down to the green flag? Those little statements may be echoing louder and louder in his thoughts as time passes. Mind games are all part of it and can be very entertaining at times.

November 16th, 2012. I'm marking that day on my calendar as the day that Fender has shown outward signs of mental distress. 'The clock is ticking on his and Chads careers, and I think JJ knows he really needs this one.' I know that you like numbers so check this one out. Ten completed seasons running the full schedule so far. Five of which concluded with the Jimmie/Chad combo finishing P1. They have an average finishing position of 2.5 in the standings over that time and have shown no signs of weakness. They've got a long career ahead of them and unfortunately I think that he's probably going to achieve his goal.

One blown tire put these two in the position that they are after last weekends race. Anything can happen this weekend. The way I see it is that Double J can run 'nads out' with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Keselowski on the other hand, not so much.

"In five more years of crew chiefing I'm pretty sure I'll be about done by then. Crew chief years are about like dog years, so I'm thinking I'm about 97 years old, so I don't think I can go much more after that." - Chad Knaus, after signing new deal with HMS that runs thru 2015 season.

There you go. If Chad truely is burned out, JJ knows he will have to break in a new CC. He want's 3 more championships, so the math is easy. He NEEDS this one.

Correction: One over driven car put these two in the position that they are after last weekends race. It's no coincidence that after Brad passed Kyle for the lead, JJ was told to pick it up and then blew the right front a few laps later. Was it a melted bead? Damn straight, because the video clearly shows the inside bead is missing.

I'm predicting another JJ wreck if Brad is running ahead of him.

FenderBumper: i'm not so sure jimmie will be the one to screw up.

jmo: brad is wound pretty tight all the time. and the events of the past couple of weeks seems to have twisted him even tighter. now i hope i'm wrong (anybody but jimmie!), but i'm nervous what brad might do if something goes wrong early in the race. should that happen, penske better be on the radio talking him down from the ledge.

I'd imagine that Knaus wants it every bit as bad as Johnson. He said what he said but time will tell. It could be just another way of pre-demanding some more money from those deep pockets of Hendrick. You know, mind games.

I stand by my previous statement. Anything can happen. I rooting for your boy but this is no done deal by any means.

Of topic..... Damn, I just heard someone call Keselowski the Ice Man on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio. What a travesty that is! Who would do such a thing? ;)

It'd be a stretch for anyone to say Jimmie made a mistake because of Brad. I know Fender will but he's a spin doctor. A tire blew -- it happens all the time.

Jimmie's been in this position many times before. Hell, in 2010, there was no way he could win and Hamlin helped him out.

So you wont be to shocked if he and Johnson go out get it ;)

Brad Keselowski@keselowski
Woke up this morning trying to understand how a driver who has 2 finish 15th at worst is under more pressure than 1 who has 2 win.#Confused

22 min into Cup practice: 55 11 2 15 56 18 43 20 22 88 83 19 17 13 48 @homesteadmiami

I'm sure Jr and Sam beating JJ isn't part of the plan.

Denny Hamlin@dennyhamlin
hey @keselowski, would this be a bad weekend for me to pay you back for all those times you wrecked me? i mean i do owe ya a couple.

lol

Just saw this one from Hamlin. Seriously, now Hamlin's want to get in his head? What a tool.

Fender please for the sake of all of our sanity step away from the computer and take a deep breath, say I'm at peace with the world 5 times and drink 6 shots of Yagermeister then and only then can you start posting again. :p

3 things I'll be watching with Brad.

1) Brads nerves.
2) How HMS, SHR and chevy guys race him.
3) That Penske engine. Bringing their most power ever does come with some risks.

3 things I'll be watching with JJ.

1) Does he get wreckless halfway thru?
2) Does Chad go fuel mileage early?
3) Does JJ continue the mind games?

I think I'll just watch the race. That other stuff just makes my head hurt. ;)

Brad K 4th fastest in final practice. Jimmie 18th, and 2 mph slower.
You must be so proud.

After brad takes the title as the first new guy to do it in like ten years, is JJ going to disappear under those waves?
