Hehehe Gotcha! ;)

Joey Logano will premier the #48 Discount Tire Penske Racing Mustang in the Watkins Glen Nationwide race next week.

Guess maybe this could have waited until after Pocono but oh well.. lol

Number 22 surely. Hehe

Or do you mean 48% discount?

No he actually will be premiering the #48 Penske Nationwide car next week... Just thought I'd mess with people in the thread title.

What's up with Penske needing to fill the Nationwide field with Cup drivers? He sent Logano to run the #22 at Chicagoland as the only Cup regular, Keselowski is in the #22 as the only Cup driver at Iowa, and then Kez and Logano are going to run the #22 and #48 at The Glen. Desperation?

They're trying to capitalize on Kyle Busch not being in the 54.. they were 51 points behind the 54 in owners points going into Chicago and are now 35 behind. With Kyle being out of the 54 again this weekend they will do the same thing again but they're sending Brad this time, hopefully with similar results. Not sure why they're putting another car in for the Nationwide race but it'll be fun to watch. Joey should have won that race last year.

They made it from further back in less time already to get to the top 10 in points. The 22 team is confident they can do the same thing again. But also that one more bad race means they're gona start throwin hail Mary's. I'm hoping for the former but either way watch for a strong run from them from here after those last 2 bad races. They still believe not only that they can make the chase, but that they can win the championship.

It's good to see the confidence out of Joey compared to the past years. They haven't had the greatest year but have finished in the top 10 almost half the races (9 of 20) and have had speed most of the year. I could see them getting into a groove and pulling off a few wins anytime. Even regardless of whether they make the chase this year or not, its good to see this team working together so well. I'm sure I have a different view of it than most of you simply because of the word Joey in the title thread lol but once this team starts unloading a little quicker I wouldn't be surprised to see them start leading laps, knockin off top 5's and winning races soon.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Seems neither one is making the Chase. Think he would be focusing on the cup side of things. He should be giving Blaney seat time in nationwide.

they can make the chase... they made up more points in less races already.. with the tracks that are coming up I don't doubt it... got some stiff competition but its possible.. need a win

Think your are right Bread. Kez and Joey need something to help. A good finish might help with the confidence level. Penske has a long shot, but a shot in winning the manufacturers championship also. Not going to be much difference in running a Nationwide car on the same track as the cup car the next day if you ask me. Now on the other hand, if you ask Danica.o_O

Yeah, Im pretty sure they use the same tires. Other than braking points it'd be similar especially getting used to tire wear and all that, testing strategies etc... They could definitely use some confidence boosters.. they have some momentum with the past 2 races but after an 8th and a 7th Joey actually lost 2 points on 10th.. a lot of that is because of who won those races though.. Joey will need others to do porrly while he runs good.. or wins... either could happen, they've been close at least 3 times this year so far and seem to always have fast cars. I wouldn't be surprised to see Joey win at either Michigan or Bristol....Worst part is all the shoulda coulda woulda's lol without a penalty and a few tire issues, that Kansas wreck with busch... they'de be up there in the top 10 for sure. Im not really worried though, just because of that fact. They'll start knockin off the finishes they need and I think next year will be a much better team and get a bunch of wins... but for now... The Glen.
