No, DEI fans I am not making this up.

John Andretti, released last month by Petty Enterprises, is scheduled to be at the Speedway on Monday testing a Dale Earnhardt Inc. car. DEI executive vice president Ty Norris said if the test goes well, Andretti will be given a chance to qualify it for the Aug. 3 race. "We talked to John on Saturday morning. He's excited about the opportunity and we're excited to give it to him," Norris said. "You'll have the Andrettis and Earnhardts working together at Indy. That's kind of neat." Andretti will be driving the #81 Chevrolet that Jason Keller failed to qualify this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. Chicago-based sponsor Kraft Foods, after missing the race in its backyard, decided Indy was the next-best option.

That will be cool. Andretti in a DEI car. Could be interesting. :D

Does this mean that Dale Jr. might be out of a ride next year? :p

Not likely. But Jeff Green???

Yea, your right Gollum - but I think Hank Parker Jr. might take Dale's ride. I heard that DEI figured out that they don't have to spend so much money on painting over the Jr. on the roof of the cars. :p

I heard Pennzoil is leaving as a primary sponsor. This leaves the 1 car unsponsored. I would think that John Andretti would be better at attracting a sponsor than Jeff Green. (Name recognition). IMHO, Jeff should start packing, John will be moving in.

Well I hope he gets the respect he deserves as well as a chance(No Pun Intended) to race for Chance 2

he's been fast in testing, and even tho he's in the 0 car, it said except for the brickyard.....would be good to see him run good...

Andretti leaving Petty enterprises was long overdue. Petty did him a favor by firing him. Petty Motorsports used to be a respectable team, but has declined since Robbie Loomis left as the team's general manager to be the crew chief of the #24 team. Kyle Petty is trying to turn the team around, but the way he badmouths his team on TV, I can't imagine team chemistry is too great.

I hope him the best in both the #0 pontaic and the 81 chevy! I do like him I just never realy like that he drove the 43. He is a nice guy, and sometmes can be funny. I hope one of these rides turns into a full time ride next year!

John Andretti is from the same area as me, and even born in the same hospital, so I've always pulled for him. I've even seen him at my bank before. hehe.

Just hasn't been easy to pull for him lately, w/ him in the back of the pack most of the time. About time he has a new ride to show his real talent.
