just catching up and reading some of the entertaining posts, quite alot of stuff going on, maybe I missed it but I didn't see anyghing on the John Andretti- Tony Stewart thing

Did anyone notice that Tony had some pretty harsh stuff to say about Andretti, he even mentioned it after the race when it should have been the last thing on his mind

Anyway I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this?

It always seems like every time I get where I like TS again, he does something that rubs me the wrong way. I think he is the best natural driver on the circuit but I don't like his "its always someone else's fault" brat attitude. Even though Andretti made a mistake I think Tony could have handled it differently. It makes me think that Tony is just putting on an act most of the time to look positive for the sponsors and such and sometimes he shows how he really is.

I'm trying really hard for this not to look like I'm bashing Tony because that's not the intention, I was just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I am a big Tony fan and can honestly tell you I wish he had not gone near as far with his statment as he did. That is not going to make me dislike him though, and I'll admit at times he does have diarriea of the mouth. But he's my favorite for his ability, not his personality.

The funniest thing I heard was on the pre race show Tony said...yea, there's ten days of racing down here during speedweeks and John Andretti runs out of talent after about three days....

I heard him raving about Andretti but what was he supposed to have done? Was it caught on tape?

I thought he got along with the DEI crew.

Tony Stewart has to say its always someone elses fault, and thats sad, cause john did nothing except get lose in the corner.

I agree. Andretti has always been a stand up guy with a good reputation. I thought the comments were undeserved.

Also, I wonder what Jr. thinks of all this since him and TS are such big buddies now?

I dunno but I'm thinking tony's words are the reason we dont see johns name on the entry list at the rock, which again is sad, and is why I am not a tony fan nor will I ever be!

True, that stinks. Supposedly DEI was supposed to be close to sponsorship so they could run the 3rd car in alot more races.

It's ashamed Tony acts that way sometimes. In my opinion he's the most talented driver out there. Harvicks the same way, all the talent in the world until he opens his mouth. Harvick puts the car in places you don't think he would be able to squeeze into. He would probably be my favorite to watch because of his driving style but I can't stand his attitude.

I thought some of his comments were funny, but I also felt he took it too far. I mean, you climb out of the car after winning your class in the Daytona 500 and the first thing he does is lay back into Andretti. C'mon Tony pick on someone your own size.

I agree, he really needs to grow up, papa gibbs isnt there to calm him down anymore

If these drivers are going to refer to themselves as professionals, then some of them need to start acting like professionals. Bad mouthing others does nothing for the drivers reputation or nascar in general.

yes i have seen tony be professional, but until he can show that week in and week out he is going to struggle with sponsors.

I like Tony.. he's a good driver, but he doesn't always pick the right words sometimes. But who hasn't ran their mouth a time or two? Its natural for any driver.
