What an awful day.
John has sadly lost his battle with cancer...
My prayers are with the Andretti family through this tough time.
What a wheelman and gentlemen he was, he was always a class act and always had a smile on his face.
RIP, John. Another loss to the racing world.
Aww man RIP
Man, I thought he'd make it.
Very sad news, RIP John
Aww man, that's a shame. He always came across to me as a really good guy.
I remember his Daytona win very well - the 1997 Pepsi 400. I was 12 years old, and I did NOT want my arch nemesis, Dale Earnhardt, to win that race. I sure as heck didn't think John was gonna be able to hold him and the rest of the field off, but somehow, he did, and I was ecstatic.
RIP. Was dreading this day.
Very cool tribute to him via IMS
The 30 second (Camping World) tribute to John Andretti which aired before a commercial segment during the truck race is very well done.
Both understated and effective, very much like John Andretti as I remember him. A perfectly silent clip of just a few images and the following words:
