Johnny Benson Will Return To Berlin Raceway: Grand Rapids native Johnny Benson Jr. has yet to find a ride next year in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, but he does plan to return to the Marne half-mile with his homemade Late Model for races on May 8, June 16 and Sept. 21. The June 16 race is on a Wednesday night, and Berlin is hoping to attract another Nextel Cup driver or two, as well as the race on Sept. 21. - The Grand Rapids Press
 
Johnny B is a great guy and Driver >> he really deserves a Ride! Hopefully something will come through for him!

Maybe we will see him go back and do some ASA stuff >> he kicked serious Tail in that Series!!!

Wake up Nascar Teams >> Johnny is a Good Driver!
 
I agree Johnny is a good driver I am afraid that Nascar has passed him by. With young guys like Ryan Newman, Jimmy Johnson, Jamie Mcmurray and others that team owners are looking for that next pretty face with talent. Just my .02 cents.
 
I figured he would be the First of the "Out of a Job Drivers" to get picked up!

He is a smooth driver and never complains about anything. Put him in a competitive car and he will certainly win races!!!
 
I think in Johnys' case he must of ruffled some feathers along the way somewhere. Seems kind of strange that no team has picked him up yet. Maybe it is because he such a nice guy, that could be it... he doesn't have that bad boy image that Nascar likes. Just kind of weird IMO that he doesn't have a ride yet <_<
 
Of course, you mention that he never complains, well, that may contribute to his finishes...if he doesn't complain about a set up or something, it could mean that he may drive a poorly set up car...of course, i'm sure he's not that passive, but you never know...
 
I hope to be at one of those dates in Berlin. His fan club meeting is during one of those weekends, I hope to attend it this year.
 
JB's age could have a lot to do with him not getting picked up yet, JMO.
 
I expected Benson to be picked up by the 74 BACE Motorsports team, either that or the 23 Bill Davis Team.

Hopefully JB will find a ride, hes a nice guy and a real ambassador of the sport and with the right tools, he'll win a lot of races. Looking forward to seeing him in victory lane.
 
Not being aggressive enough could be why he hasn't been picked up yet.
