That's Racin'
DOVER, Del. - Johnny Sauter, who is driving for Brewco Motorsports in the Busch Series and Richard Childress Racing in Cup, will not run the June 27 road course race at Sonoma, Calif., in the Cup car due to a scheduling conflict.
RCR has tapped NASCAR Southwest Series regular and road course specialist Jim Inglebright to drive the No. 30 Chevrolet in the race.
"We're disappointed Johnny couldn't run (Sonoma) due to the Busch race weekend in Milwaukee, which is his Busch team's sponsor's hometown," team owner Richard Childress said.
"Jim has the aggressive driving style I like and he definitely knows his way around Infineon Raceway, his track record speaks for itself."
Sauter said his primary objective for the year was his Busch team. "I want to make a run for championship and I feel like we've gotten off track the past couple weeks," Sauter said. "I've never been on a road course, never tested on a road course so it's probably a good move on their part."
