I understand best driver nominee for Johnson, but Dale Jr? Honestly, no. If they are just basing it off the 2013 season, shouldn't the other nominee be Kenseth? Since they used some 2014 stats (NBA finals), shouldnt the nominees be Harvick & Gordon - the 2 drivers seen up front every single week this season so far? With an HM to Johnson for being the 2013 champion. Just my 2 cents...

The ESPYs are dumb. I get that some of the awards are interesting, like best male/female athlete or best driver, because you can award someone across disciplines? But best NFL Player? There's already an award for that, it's called the MVP. Sports do a pretty good job of determining who deserves trophies, we don't need a fan vote and a three-hour comedy show with a couple of trophies peppered in. ESPN's gotta televise something during the summer, though.

True that. Even though I find singling a player or driver out from an entire team is ridiculous. No individual in sports gets to a championship level without the support of teammates. A wide receiver can be great but if the QB sucks, who cares? A driver can be elite but if his pit crew & crew chief strategies blow, what does it matter?

What's up, Houston Texans fans?!?! (Hides from any potential Texans fans here at R-F).

Since the Espys are in July every year, I can understand why Jr is here. His great end to the 2013 season, and start to 2014 season, and he won the Daytona 500, but I would put other drivers above him. Sebastian Vettel, since he won the last 7 or 8 races last year in a row, and his 4th straight championship, or Lewis Hamilton, since he has won 4 straight races this year, but they are most likely not on here since they are F1 drivers, and not a lot of people in the US know F1

I saw this yesterday.....pretty much a joke...so I will leave it alone lol

does an ESPY cost?

now that Jr is winning again, and running well, he'll probably back in a lot polls, but no trophies except MPD

He gets a few top 5s & 2 wins and just like every time he performs stronger than ususal, the "this is his year" headlines start to outpour.

The "this is his year" headlines come around every year either at the start of the year, or some other time during the year. I hope this is his year, but it's more fun to be a Jr fan after a couple of years of being terrible in 2009 and 2010

i hope espys want all 4 hms teams...cc's too....for whole week ! ha!

One nomination for the most deserving, and another for the only other NASCAR driver most Americans know of (save Jeff Gordon) ;)
