What can I say? As one who many would call a Johnson hater, I find this team is seemingly unbeatable. One thing they can boast is that they never give up. Jeez, I wonder if this had been of the original length of 500 miles if he wouldn't have won? Almost two laps down and looking at a 30th or worse finish, this team persevered and finished 6th. My hat is off to this team and if they don't win the title this year, they will have wasted a year.

He simply drove well and definetly benefitted from many cautions.
I too am a Johnson hater, but I gotta give credit to a smart drive when they were down.

i'll say they didnt give up.

and remember, the 48 cew pitted the 4 car, so they made a TON of error free pit stops!

Great run by Johnson and a great performance by the whole team. They are pretty hard to beat.

Doesn't matter whether you like or hate or are indifferent to Jimmy and Team, he sure can drive that car!

He has a ton of talent and one of the best crew chiefs in the business. His luck may run out again by the end of the season though, there are some contenders in the chase that weren't there last year.

This could be Johnson's year if he keeps from becoming his own worst enemy, as in the past. Kenseth, Martin and Stewart look pretty strong as well - as usual. I never count Jeff Gordon out as well.

Two things I noticed after the race: Kenseth's wife banging her head on the thing that hold the window net...ouch....and Fox having him sat there in his car like an idiot until they came back from commercial.

Johnson haters? How can anyone hate Jimmy Johnson? Hate terrorists. Hate killers. Hate people who are responsible for family members being killed in a war. But hate a race car driver? A sports entertainer? Come on people! Is it envy? Hate his success?

No we have some posters on here who truly hate Jimmie. As evidenced by their many posts over anything they see even tho they can easily excuse or even encourage similar actions from other drivers. I truly believe that if some had the chance they would go out of their way to run over his dog. And yes it is envy. Look at the number of wins he has vs some of their drivers who have been in the sport longer. That and he is associated with JeffG and Hendrick who have long been hated as well. So to the 48 haters I say - HAH...

I only HATE Hitler, Osama, Sadam and pure evil.

IMHO, these drivers are deserving of RESPECT just because of the job they do and the talent they display.
There are drivers I don't like much, but I'll always be among those to congratulate a great effort!

Oh jeez, excuse me for being a JJ hater. If you really think that I hate the man, then this place certainly isn't for you. This sport probably has more people who consider themselves "haters" of certain drivers/teams than any other sport. For one reason, there are more than 40 particular drivers/teams out there and when you put them up against the rest of the field, it's easy to see why one or more of them will cause some fans to dislike them. There has always been a driver or two that I've disliked and those who liked that driver called me a "hater" of said driver. I'll wear the badge well, but I've seen it on their lapels as well. If you are one of those "love them all" types, I feel sorry for you. There will always be people who are happy about the guy who wins, even if it's Kyle or Kurt Busch. To those types of fans, I say...wanna play tiddly winks? As for Jimmie Johnson, I have nothing against the man personally. I even was a big fan of his when he was driving in the Busch league. But his attitude over the last three years while driving a Cup car has turned me against the young man. I don't hate Jimmie Johnson, but I do root against him, only because he has that Prima Dona attitude. And, I do believe that it was Jimmie and his fans that actually used the term "haters", simply because they/he didn't like to be disliked. Until I heard Jimmie himself use the term, I'd not heard it anywhere, including here.

But once again, I'll wear that badge cheerfully, and it ain't because he drives for Hendricks either.

Drinks are on me for all JJ haters! For the rest of you, I've reserved the back room for a hot game of tiddly winks. :beerbang:

I get it. 'Have nothing against him personally, but hate him'.

Are you in politics?

Oh yeah, I'm a conservative as strong as they come. I'd love to see Teddy Kennedy drive off a bridge and ... nah, this isn't the time or the place.

Actually, I think that those of us who dislike Johnson are nothing like those Bush haters and I spelled that correct. There is definately something different about us NASCAR fans than those who are just political junkies.

Reason I started this thread was because I believe this team to have the best chemistry going along with Kenseth/Reiser. I don't care for or cheer for them, but they truly have something special. Not quite Gordon/Evernham special (arguably best duo ever) but still very good.

Cypress i have to agree with you and Buck i also have to agree with you. I'm a "disliker" of JJ, never liked him never will, just as in the case of Jeff Gordon, i don't like him. There are however no drivers i actually "hate". Hate is a strong word, usually reserved for the likes of Osama as kat said. Basically in Cup there are 4 drivers i do not like: Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, JJ, and Jeffy. I do not hate them however, i only wish that they do not do well every week. I wish only that they finish behind my favorite driver week in and week out, that they do not make the Chase or get the accolades that "my" driver deserves. Nascar is about choosing a favorite, cheering him on every week, loving him for finishing ahead of the driver or drivers you dislike. That is why Nascar is fun! Hate like i said is reserved for more "serious" things. Like Ted Kennedy...now don't get me started...lol... would have to move that one to the Podium for sure :beerbang:

You guys know I don't post a lot, but this is why so many people hate the 48 and their fans. Gloating isn't needed, we need to snag a championship, then gloat.
