JJ is WAY faster than the rest of the field. If any driver reads this I can have a #3 fave if you take JJ out! lol

Chad Knaus has been fined $10,000 and the team docked 25 points for "use of inappropriate language" on air when he found out who would be starting next to and behind Johnson for Sundays race.

Just kidding, he didn't get caught but I would bet that there was an "Oh s**t" or two.

JJ is the man but watch out for Mark [when he qual` it was a lot hotter,ie:quick car]
Looking forward to the race!!!!!! Should be goody.

I'm more worried about Speed trying to get out of the way and wrecking Marcos. Maybe he'll have to go to the back for something.

B.S.

I'm so sick of hearing the, "Jimmie Johnson making history..." crap. Jimmie, under the new points system, cannot be compared to drivers under the old system. It's apples and oranges. They might as well be comparing Jimmie Johnson to Roger Federer. Had NASCAR not changed everything Jimmie would not be in a position to "win 4 in a row". If we were under the old points system, Jimmie would have a 13 point lead over Tony Stewart going into Homestead.
Under the old system the 2008 Cup Champ would have been Carl Edwards NOT Jimmie Johnson.
Under the old system the 2007 Cup Champ would have been Jeff Gordon NOT Jimmie Johnson.
Everybody is comparing Jimmie's stats to the other Championship statistics. If it were fair Jimmie Johnson would currently have 2 Championships.

Well you can't really go by that to much. People might have done things different. With the Chase maybe everyone holds off alot of there best stuff for the last ten races. If there was no chase drivers would give it there all from start to end.

Not a Johnson fan so not saying that for that reason. I rather him not win it and it not be a chase...but point is this he would champ thing doesn't work cause of the whole who would be champ if this happened thing. Cause lets be honest here. As long as you can keep your self in the top 12 and be there after Richmond you can win the Championship and been 12 from the start to then.

I disagree.

But think about it. What is Johnson's best time of the year.

The last ten races. Know why. He saves his best until then. If he has to be good all year long he'd use all his good stuff during the season.

I did think about it that's why I disagree. None of these guys start any race hoping to finish 2nd.

JPM was points racing up until the chase..right..so yeah

I mean yeah all drivers rather win but if you know you only really gotta be great the last ten races wouldn't you do the smart thing save all the best you got for them last ten races. I mean Johnson might not have won he Championship them years. But we also don't know Carl would have won or Jeff or that Tony would only be 14 behind right now.

It is what is is guys. We don't have a say in the matter and the drivers have very little say in the matter. The rest of the teams need to step up to the plate and improve their program.

so this is the first time the points system has been changed?

very true bobby but the rules today are what current championships are measured by. the drivers didn't change the rules. all sports adjust their rules as time and the circumstances of the sports themselves change. in that regard change is a necessary element of the sports. if the rules didn't change people would be complaining that the sports rules didn't change as the sports did. cars are different, schedules are different, even the fans are different. there is little relation of the current nascar to the nascar of the past.

The Chase came about IIRC to "add excitment" to the final races of the season due to lack of attendance and TV viewers.
A weak attempt to combat College ball and the NFL.
