JR Motorsports in 2014?

Its a well known fact that Kasey Kahne will have Great Clips up his cup sponsership to 10 races in 2014. But the money from that has to come from somewhere, and that place may be JR Motorsports. Great Clips will supposedly drop their sponsership on the 5 car to 6 races, which opens the door for Jr to have other drivers in the car than Brad Sweet and Kasey Kahne. Supposedly they will be released to a TBA team, and drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. is considering include Cole Whitt, Max Gresham, and yes, Jeffery Earnhardt. Announcements will be made at a later time.

My thoughts are that if he can release Keet without losing sponsership than he should go for it. However there are much more talented free agents (Brian Ickler, Cale Gale, Brad Coleman) and truck drivers (James Buscher, Joey Coulter) than the people he is considering. Cole Whitt aint too shabby and I get Jeffery Earnhardt but I have to say -- Max Gresham? Really?

They seem to be doing better after the staff changes and dropping to one full-time car. I take it JRM isn't running Fellows at Mid-Ohio or any future road races?

They dropped to one car? When did that happen? I counted two in last weeks race.
And who knows about Fellows.

I said full-time. The #5 is there for 30 of 33 races and Junior is running the #88 for 4 races. Last year they ran as many as 4 cars in one race (Whitt, Patrick, Fellows and Sweet were present at Road America) and 3 were full-time.

Is JR doing this to help/give drivers a chance do drive in nascar?

The 5 is pretty much full time, especially if you factor in the 88.
And Jr ran Sweet at RA? Source please?

Okay, that's still one less car in 90%+ of the races then.

My bad, it was Turner last year - the use of the #38 confused me (NWS really needs more full season entries). He is entered for ~16 races this year with JRM though.
No if I am not mistaken JrM has had at least 2 cars in every race and it is confusing but yeah, I know.

Could Chase Elliott be in the second full time car or will he run the Trucks next year?

Odds are he'll drive the 88 full-time next year. I'm guessing that they'll have 2 full-time teams and the 5 still as a 90% team but with more drivers.

Well it didnt say anything in the article about the 88 team so that could be true.

I don't know what Sweet has on Kahne. Kahne just needs to cut his losses with him.
Sweet is doing nothing in cars that Kahne is getting top 5s in. He got his first top 10 last week, for goodness sake.
