God almighty JR couldn't drive a nail with a sledge hammer yesterday much less a racecar. Looks like he won't be contending for the WC this year. 2 30th or worse in a row. bet he don't finish top 20 in Vagas

Hate to say it but he ain't anywhere near the driver his old man was.

As much as I like Jr. I think he should have parked it and went home early yesterday. Man that was ugly.

i still say he can get a top 10 and still win it but he has got to work at it. i mean eveytime there was a yellow it was the red #8 Buswiser chevy. should have been in the "big red beer truck" yesterday. :p

Looks like people blaming Jr. for "bad luck". The alternator thing at Daytona, then the front damage from Jarrett and Sadler getting together at the beginng of the race.

i am not blaning him. i am a jr fan, i was just saying if he was in "THE BIG BED BEER TRUCK" he could have finished better.

no blame here just stating a fact yesterday was pitiful.

Yeah, yesterday was bad for alot of drivers. Bill elliott fading to the back, Sterling Marlin blowing an engine, Todd Bodine hitting the wall, Nadeau, Gordon, Mayfield spinning out.

Jr. will bounce back after he goes through Talledega in a few months.

Only thing I blamed him for was getting lost twice in turn two. That was fantastic, or awful depending on your tastes. I loved it. A lot. Still giggling in fact.

Well...I seem to remember people calling for him to be champion during speedweeks.

:waver: I am! I am! Didn't wait that long in fact!

He's going nowhere this year folks. Ward won't do as well as Junior does at the end of the season, but Junior...well, he just ain't gonna have no good year I don't think.

I do agree with you on one thing, though. He ain't his daddy any more than Kyle Petty is Richard or Dale Jarrett is Ned. Anyone expecting it should not only get over it but be ashamed of themselves both for putting unrealistic expectations on Junior and for cheapening the accomplishments of his father. Whom I also didn't care for by the way, but no denying his ability.

TWF, i think Ward could do well this year. just as long as his pit crew dont load up the construction cats. lol :p

He'll do OK, better than last season I think. He looked racey for awhile yesterday, got a bum set of tires. But I don't kid myself into thinking he's gonna win 8 races and a championship either. He's good for 2 to 3 wins, top ten a third of the time, around in there. I bet a lot of drivers would take that season and grin.

He should get a Darlington race this year, and I look for him to be mighty good at Richmond too. Can't rule out somewhere like Dover either. His plate races aren't too shabby when he finishes them. I just hope they leave him plenty of time in victory lane for the interview, it takes him a while to get it all said.

In all fairness to Jr, the first accident was being in the wrong place at the wrong time , wasn't really his fault. I really think after that ,it put him and the team behind the 8 ball so to speak, they pressed hard and Jr drove the car way too hard , especially when his tires started to fade. I still think Jr. will finish in the top 10 in points this year. I'm not trying to stick up for him either just looking at the big picture, I'm an Elliot and Sterling fan as most people here probably have noticed. :)

and when did i become your "bud"

Have a nice day!

I read here alot this site is one of the best for Nascar no question about that. I don't post alot, I don't figure I have alot to say that would be interesting honestly. But I do want to say a few things now, with a new season starting. I respect alot of people on this site. We are only in the 2nd race of the new season, 1st I hope a safe season for all the driver's even the 2 I don't like, never want to see a repeat of the wreck at Daytona. I have stated before that Jr. is not his father and he never will be. I was sorry to see him lose the 500 yes I wanted him to sweep the weekend that would have been so cool. Yesterday as soon as I saw the fender rub I knew it was a lost cause, because I had a feeling that it was going to be damage beyond repair to let him finish well. But then again it was a track that he doesn't do well at. I had no expectations for him to win this weekend. Finishing well would have been nice. But I am not going to write him off for the whole season, I have no expectations of a championship but yes I would love to see him finish in the top 10. So I will follow my driver not blindly but with open eyes. He is not God to me but he is the one I choose to follow to win. Thank-you for this site and keeping it interesting. :lilangel:

Damn.. I take it that you all expect everything from Jr huh? 2 bad weekends, and hell.... might as well take him off the entry list..

It was Jeff Gordon that caused his problem early in the race.

Racin_8Jr, you are so right. We can't write anyone off this early in season ---- witness last year when Tony was 43rd in points after Daytona.

Sunday just wasn't a good day for the Bud team. When I saw that damage to the left front, I knew it was going to get ugly, and it did.

The only good thing, the car didn't get torn to hell and gone, saving some time and work for the fab shop.

By the way, welcome to the forum. :)

Hi Racin_8jr! Please post more often....I mean,I do and I almost never have anything interesting to say!
