Juan Pablo already have more Top-5s and Top-10s combined (11) in the 2013 Sprint Cup than all of the drivers outside the Chase except Keselowski, Truex Jr., and Stewart.

Montoya was 2nd at Dover,

Montoya was 3rd at Bristol

Montoya was 3rd at the Budweiser Duel in Daytona.

Montoya was 4th at Michigan

Montoya was 5th at Watkins Glen

Montoya was 6th at the Charlotte Showdown

Montoya was 7th at Atlanta

Montoya was 8th at Darlington

Montoya was 9th at Indianapolis

Montoya was 10th at Daytona

Montoya finished 11th at Michigan

Montoya finished 12th at Phoenix

Montoya finished 12th in Charlotte.

Montoya still racing with the same EGR cars and crew team.

Last time I checked Jamie did not have as many Top-5s and Top-10s as Montoya has in 2013.

Montoya is 103 points away from the top driver outside the Chase and 2012 Sprint Cup Champion; Keselowski.

Whenever you race with black cats crossing your lanes and witches loosing lug nuts, unexplained fuel shortages, and evil wrecks you can end up with 5 points in a race while the one ending 20 gains 20 points over you in a race. Points mean a lot but it is not the only thing that determines the driver in a race car.

If you compare DINERO/DOLARES McMurray has made $4,281,998 and Montoya made $4,274,573. Money earned is a better reflection on how you run every race in comparison to other drivers than points.

I am not bringing here in this chat whatever McMurray or Larson do driving for EGR.

MUCHOS DOLARES MUCHO DINERO.

I've wanted to see Juan get an oval win so bad. Richmond was his until the caution. Nascar is obviously not the place for him. He has had some good runs in NASCAR but he will do a lot better in Indy.

Jaun could have won Indy a few years ago but he sped on pit road. I would have liked to see how he would do in IROC (when road courses were included).

Yep, the same EGR cars Jamie Mac has driven to 15th in points yet Juan is 21st in points...how could this be???

Since 2007 Montoya has 24 Top-5s and McMurray has 22 Top-5s
Since 2007 Montoya has 58 Top-10s and McMurray has 51 Top-10s
Since 2007 Montoya 19.77 AVG Finish and McMurray 19.8 AVG Finish

If you are defending EGR cars in the last 7 years you will notice a pattern of good car years and bad car years.

In reality you will see Montoya and McMurray performance year by year very similar specially as far as Top-5, Top-10, Wins and AVG finishes since 2007 when Montoya came in to Nascar.

Montoya vs McMurray

Montoya Top-5 vs McMurray Top-5

2007.....3.................vs................3
2008.....2.................vs................4
2009.....7.................vs................1
2010.....6.................vs................9
2011.....2.................vs................2
2012.....0.................vs................0
2013.....4.................vs................3

McMurray has 5 wins since 2007. In 2010 had 3 wins with an AVG Finish of 16.4.
Montoya has 2 wins since 2007. In 2010 had 1 win with an AVG Finish of 18.0

Whenever EGR cars´ perform best so are the drivers. In 2009 EGR drivers combined (8) Top-5s and in 2010 (15) for a total of (23) Top-5s in those two years. In 2007 (6), In 2008 (6), In 2011 (4), In 2012 (0), in 2013 (7) for a total of (23) for those 5 years. In the years EGR had the worst cars they only average (4) Top-5s with (O,0,Zero,Cero,Zip) Top-5s in 2012. Montoya nor McMurray had any Top-5s in 2012.

What is there about EGR cars that you dont see ? Except this year they havent had good cars since 2010. That includes EGR cars for Montoya and McMurray. EGR is lucky to have drivers like McMurray and Montoya since their cars suck until now. There is no way they can keep up with the Hendricks, the Toyotas, and the Penskes; they are much faster and have better crews.

Just glad to see Juan get a seat for next year. He was a disappointment to me in Cup, I wanted him to do better in the top paying bracket of motorsport. But as we all know, some drivers do better in different cars than others. Hopefully he gets his name called a lot in open wheel indy car. Gives me someone to pull for, there hasn't been a driver over there in years I have cared weather they won or lost.

Umm no it's not, you could have a top 5 at the 500 and make more there than if you won the next race in Phoenix. Is that money including non points races like the All Star? Purse money changes each race, points don't. The best way to compare drivers is still points, or driver rating.

Honestly though, best of luck to Juan. I hope he can revive his career and get back to victory lane. It just won't be happening in NASCAR.

That was his win. NASCAR fudged that one up. There was no reason for him push it on pit road, much less speed. He swore on his children that he didn't speed. He absolutely dominated that race & NASCAR wanted to shake things up for their beloved brickyard.

OMG , they hit him with a phantom speeding penalty instead of a phantom debris caution ?

We can choke that up to Juan being overly anxious.

Even the best of the best screw up under the pressure of imminent win.

LOL Martin pitting with one lap to go in the race that one time at Bristol.

He didn't believe he was speeding. Two different timing lines believed that he was.

I hear what you're saying but not too sure about Nascar intentionally taking that race from him as Montoya has never really been a driver who takes responsibility for his own mistakes anyway.

Don't get me wrong - nothing France & company might do would surprise me - I just don't see any reason for it here as it seems to me that Montoya winning the Brickyard would've actually been rich fodder for the Nascar marketing machine.

Who knows :idunno:

"He wont be missed" ---------------------- I think Kyle Busch said that
I wish Juan well but Kyle was right, I wont miss him much either
