Juan Pablo Montoya returning to Cup

I think it's to get him used to riding in a stock car again in preparation for Indy

Is he gonna get a well prepared Penske car? or is it gonna be on one of Brad or Joey's old cars?

He might, I guess we will know after the first practice session, cant be any worse than the crap he was driving when the jet drier went down

He needs to do a thousand reps of pit road speed during practice.

if the car holds up i also think he'll run well.

Why does everyone hate on Juan Montoya. Dude is a wheelman in everything he's sat in. Maybe a bit aggressive and he has an arrogant side, but he doesn't deserve all the flack he gets.

Hope to see him run well.
2 Cup wins and a Chase appearance is more than many drivers can claim. EGR was a bit of a dumpster fire for a while too.

2 wins in 8 years and 253 races?
I think I'd try to keep that a secret ;)

He had 24 top 5's and 59 top tens.... He has ran up front a lot even when results didn't always reflect it. If nothing else he should atleast be respected for being really the only modern-day Mario(competing--and winning in F1, Cart/Indy, NASCAR)

Sports cars as well - he's won the 24 Hours of Daytona three times.

Ha! Doesn't count. Modern day Mario? Tony Stewart.
Juan was good in open wheel but open wheel ain't stock cars. I suppose I'd have a better opinion of him if he weren't such an arrogant Napoleon.
Arrogance can be somewhat tolerated if you're fast. Juan was never a threat in NASCAR.

No, but he is a former IRL champion.

True that. Somewhat like Tony Stewart.

He hasn't completed the trifecta.

This has me thinking.. He's definitely got the neck for F1... But I'm pretty sure Felipe Massa can fit in his belly.

He gets the Mario comparison because he had driven in the 3 major series-and won. That's all. Not comparing stat for stat or anything.

How can you love KyBu so much but hate JM? It's not like Juan is racing Indy Lights and crying in victory lane every weekend. :D

Nice... never seen Harvick back down like that.
Wouldnt call that backing down. He got takin away by the official lol. Juan was in the right the whole time. This was still back when Harv had a stick up his arse. Just one of them racing things.

What do you want him to do, punch a helmet? Kevin can be a brute, but hes not stupid.
How about the same thing Montoya did?.... Harvick backed down... it doesnt matter what u think... it is what it is... hell I know if someone did that to me they wouldn't be standing long helmet or not... and Harvick the big tough guy did nothing.

Let me make sure i understand the point you are trying to make...you think because a tough guy walks away that he was scared and he is not a tough guy anymore. Don't, you think maybe there could be other circumstances like not wanting to be fined and put on probation, or realizing that maybe he was wrong blaming the other driver and wanted to see if what Montoya was telling him was true. I think he did the right thing because it wasn't Montoyas fault. As far as what you say you would do...i don't care how tough you think you are, there is always going to be someone out there just a little crazier and a little tougher. You may learn that the smart way or you may learn that the hard way. It's your choice. Mears, learned it the hard way.;):D

It's always amusing to watch guys wearing helmets throw punches to the head..o_O

Couple of good shots in the bread basket usually smartens people up,,at least temporarily:).

my favorite JPM moment

when i watched this happens, and from Harvick behavior, i thought it look like Harvick had 2nd thoughts on how it was going turn out with Juan and backed away.
