July 19, 1964: Billy Wade completes an amazing 10-day stretch in which he wins four consecutive Grand National races. They are the only Grand National victories of his brief career. The last of the four comes at Watkins Glen in The Glen 151.8. Wade starts from the pole, leads 41 of 66 laps and beats LeeRoy Yarbrough to the line by 6 seconds. Wade, the 1963 Rookie of the Year, dies in January 1965 during a tire test at Daytona.
