Dale Earnhardt Jr. Opens Retail Store
The first-ever retail store exclusive to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his JR Motorsports brand officially opened its doors Tuesday afternoon as part of a company-wide grand opening at his team’s new 66,000-square foot facility. The store, fittingly called JR Nation, consists of more than 500 items of merchandise, including shirts, hats and collectables fashioned less like traditional track gear and more to Earnhardt Jr.’s style. It is located at the entrance to JR Motorsports, easily accessible to guests visiting the shop.

“I’m very proud of this store, and I think the fans are going to really like what we have in it,” Earnhardt Jr. said Tuesday at the grand opening. “The shirts and hats are not flashy and over-the-top like you sometimes see at the race track. It’s more subdued and cool. I had a lot of input in how I wanted this apparel to look, because I didn’t want to sell anything I wouldn’t wear myself.”

To enhance the fan experience when visiting JR Motorsports, the retail store is connected to the “Dale Jr. Fan Experience” room, which chronicles the life and racing career of Earnhardt Jr. It contains exhibits featuring the U.S. Navy, primary sponsor of JRM’s No. 88 car in the NASCAR Busch Series, and XM Radio, home to Earnhardt Jr.’s weekly radio program, “Dale Jr. Unrestricted.” It also features a life-size “Dale Jr.” wax figure sculpted by Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, and a large viewing window into the race shop.

“When fans visit this race shop, we want to give them an opportunity to get to know Dale Jr. in a new way,” said Regina Smith, manager of JR Nation. “Whether it’s through his product line in JR Nation or the exhibits in the Fan Experience, Dale Jr. was involved in essentially every phase of this process. There are things in the Fan Experience that you will not find anywhere else – exclusive family pictures, memorabilia, and trophies that he has won.”

JR Nation and the new JR Motorsports race shop is located at 349 Cayuga Dr. in Mooresville, N.C. Store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Good for him! I'll make sure I visit when I go to Charlotte!!

I dont, but I will try looking it up, I'll need that info myself anyways :)

Damn, I must have lost my mind. Someone call the men in the white jackets to come get me. Anyway I've emailed their webmaster and suggested they add driving directions and maybe a map to their website if they expect peeps to find the place. If I get a response maybe I'll let y'all know.
Then again maybe not. I don't need even more Junyer Nation crapolas around me @ CLT next month... ;)

Found it off of the Truex fan club site. It's on a new road in behind the Nascar Institute which is just past the Yates shops. Right beside Kasey Khanes new shop. :)

Airport abbreviation for Charlotte Douglas Airport. So here in NC we just type CLT.

Oh, and I've already heard back from JRMotorsports
Take I-77 exit 36 (Mooresville)
East on HWY 150
Turn Left on Talbert Road
Turn Left on Byers Creek Rd (Yates Racing)
Turn Right on Cedar Pointe Dr.
Turn Left on Cayuga Drive

Junyer Nation crapolas?

Ahh, thats like a week before the regular race aint it?
Im going to one on May 27th...:)

So some of you are going to the Charlotte race??

Yeppers. We're doing both weekends in May and the weekend in October. We don't usually go in October but we don't have a football game that weekend, for once, so we bought it all 6 races. Boy did they see us coming...

Yeah, you know hats, jackets, redneck attitudes... :D

I usually go to the 600, but last year it was so hot, we could barely breathe..
I'm hoping its not that hot this year....I may have to change to October..:)

I was at Charlotte both week-ends when all the rains were there a couple years back. It was bad. Anyone else there? They sent me a raincoat that said I survived the Coco-cola 600 or something like that.

I went to the All Star race in 05, fall race in 06 and will be going to the 600 this year. ;)

I see that you live in Canada, most Canadians attend MIS, do you go to that track too? Its also a yearly track I attend in August, for the Busch race and Cup.

tkj..I attended the October race a few years back, missed the 600 and the free
raincoat, dang...lol!!

I have some friends from Indiana and Michigan who go to the MIS race in August and come down for the Bristol race. They are gone from home for 2 weeks. Met all of them thru racing.

I was at the Michigan race the year it went green, flag to flag and DJ won it. The race was boring, it was extremely hot and I found the track too big just like Pocono. Watkins Glen is only 3 hours away and have been many times.

I think I've become a lover of the shorter tracks now. :beerbang:
