Just My Opinion

Over the weekend I was able to see SOME of all three races.
And it was some of the best racin I have seen all year.
Not just Cup.
If Nascar could figure out how to get these teams to race every weekend instead of the last one then I think that the fans will come back and Nascar will thrive but I don't see that happening.
I think that Nascar got lucky this year and the points system really worked out for them.
I think Richard Childress said it best when talking to Dillon.
He said something like this. We didn't come here to be safe get your ass up there and race.

Give it up. They do race every week end , that"s why they call them "RACES' and not 'car shows'. Try not taking the driver encouragement banter over the radio quite so literally . Any driver not giving 110% will not keep his sponsor or owner happy long. Players on team sports may take a play or two off , but racecar drivers can't.

If you say so

I think the new points system did more for the quality of the racing than I thought it would. Carl had the perfect strategy...for the OLD system. He would have beaten JJ, the consumate points racer, in any of the five chases he won. This points system beats you up for a poor finish, but rewards you more for a win. Tony was inconsistant, so they went all out for wins, including 3 very risky fuel strategy wins.

Which Ford drivers mailed it in on Sunday . Edwards? Kenseth?

Here's my question. Last night we saw Edwards and Stewart go balls to the wall and actually race because of how close the Championship points were. They had an actual incentive to race hard and race out front.

Now, what's the incentive for 42 drivers to do that every weekend?

I must not be the only one

The S&P drivers doesn't seem to be in danger of losing their jobs, neither are the ones that consistently finish at the bottom of the pack.

Do you mean the bottom of the pack like the 48 car this weekend or the bottom of the pack like Kasey Kane and Martin Truex ?

I'm talking about finishing CONSISTENTLY at the bottom, race after race after race.
