Just plain idiocy

One of the most intriguing Winston Cup stories of the weekend came from Canada, where veteran writer Dean McNulty points to Teresa Earnhardt as the person vetoing Sam Hornish for the NASCAR ride as teammate with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Michael Waltrip. Ty Norris, general manager of Dale Earnhardt Inc., negotiated for Hornish for several months and had a handshake deal for him to join DEI next season. But McNulty, referring to unnamed sources in the IRL, where Hornish is two-time champion, said Teresa Earnhardt vetoed the deal because it wasn't her idea. Signing Hornish would have kept sponsor Pennzoil at DEI. McNulty said Hornish tells friends the situation soured him on DEI.

The situation adds to intense speculation about in-house battling at DEI, with Teresa Earnhardt still the boss but increasingly distant from the reality of the operation she owns

If this is true...it is incredibly ignorant on her part. We never know if things like this are really what happened or not. But if so, Wow.

This is like giving up a top 10 draft pick in Football, they need a regime change in DEI !

I bet if DEI were given the chance to hire Michael Schumacher or Kurt Busch or Jeff Gordon, then Teresa Earnhardt would screw it all up.

AH, Toronto ???? Ya gotta consider the source. Wasn't it just the other day when a post appeared, right here on this forum, about an article in the Toronto paper relating to Helton leaving NASCAR and going with DEI ?? This all took place several days after Helton and Ms. Earnhardt denied those rumors at a press conference at Bristol.
So here we go again. Another week has passed, the power is back on in Canada after the blackout, and now this reporter is in Toronto, and what is Toronto?? The world information center for first hand information on DEI ? Does the reporter who wrote the story have the inside scoop on the NASCAR stories ?? Or just DEI articles ???

It might be premature to sell Ms. Earnhardt short in her business dicisions. She, in concert with a chap from Pennsylvania, a Yankee (YO Hardscrabble !!! Is that Yankee or damnYankee?) named Don Hawke, brought DEI from the dark side of business into a different world. The namesake caught on quickly but beforehand was a little lost on specialized business matters.

The next thing ya know, rumors about some obscure hockey player leaving the Maple Leafs and signing with DEI will be coming fresh off the press outa Toronto!!!!! And won't that get Earnhardt fans undies in a knot !!!!! :D

Check the source people. You really think that this idiot that I use as my avatar is credible????

The source was from a Toronto paper and Mike Mulhern was the conveyor. Sometimes Mulhern places articles more as an item, " that was yesterdays news" and a rumor that had been refuted, over and over again.

Yes Mulhern had it in his column, but he did not write it. Dean McNulty wrote the story. Dean who ??????

LOL...I love it! Sam is an awesome driver & is the driver I have pulled for in IRL the past 3 seasons. Sam is going to Penske next year in IRL. Sam had a lot of success in a Chevy in IRL but is getting away from Chevy because of all the probs Chevy had running this season in IRL. If Sam goes to WC, it won't be with Chevy IMO.
