Two people were banned from here recently because they posted other people's private messages into the boards. Posting private messages into the boards is wrong.

They weren't banned because they had different opinions than someone else as they would like you to believe.

Just wanted to clear that up. People are allowed to disagree...in fact I encourage it. :)

I think I got a pretty good idea of what your limits are, Paul. You've kicked me off of here before cause of some probs we had... so I learned from it.

Is this where I use one of my "freebies" Naw, I'm going to save them for something really good. :p

The only limits are common sense. I'm sure I've been a bit...uhm, anxious...in the past. But stuff like that just can't float. You're free to disagree with me anytime.

I'm always right anyway. jk.

There are only two people that are always right---your mother and your wife. I don't see you fitting either of those molds! what if I don't have common sense? Then what happens

So in other words---I'll get you and your little dog too! ( I couldn't resist, I watched that movie with the kids today)

And now for something completely different.

Watched an episode of that today...

Thank you...I was always afraid to use it before. Some people took great offense to the mention of the word "pot".

Not trying to argue the point Paul, but I'm sure pot has contributed to a lot more deaths and a whole lot more work related injuries than anyone really knows about. I have had many friends who this applies to. People who get hurt using Hippie Lettuce don't usually volunteer that information in the accident reports.

I don't smoke the stuff. My days of being an irresponsible youth ended when I was no longer a youth.

But pot is nowhere near as dangerous as government propoganda tells you.

I wonder how many work accidents have happened when people were on pain meds? Or Robitussin?

Well, many of you know what I do for a living, so my opinion on the stuff can probably be left unsaid.

People are of course free to disagree with my opinion on that. Paul and I do right now in fact. We disagree on a lot of things. I'm right on all of them, but that doesn't stop him from disagreeing. :D

And that ties back in to the original topic of this thread. Disagreements are fine. If Paul started calling me a narc, or I called him Cheech (actually, he might LIKE that...) that's where the problem lies.

The members in question started down a path that, unless altered, could potentially lead to some severely hurt feelings around here. At the time, I somewhat disagreed with the actions taken by Paul. But since I wasn't in the middle of the fray, I held back until more information could surface. It has. The call was right. Not because of who they were, who they liked, what they said...because of what they were doing.

Posting PMs on the board is just plain wrong. They are called private for a reason. Please bear in mind that whatever you post on the forum, anyone with a computer can see. That includes your email address, instant messenger IDs, and other info. If you choose to copy/paste something that is clearly private, you run the risk of being escorted out. That is for the privacy and even safety of everyone here. Call me overly dramatic, but I have seen both the good and the unspeakable come from it.

OK, off my tree stump now. The season is starting, and there are drivers to be picked on (they all drive Chevies by the way...), Jaws and Helton and Childress to be put in their places, Todd Bodine needs a head polish, Spencer needs a buffet, Ward needs a dictionary, Junior needs a beer, and they're all relying on us to keep it all straightened out.

I can't visit, I don't have a passport.

Seriously, I do want to vacation in New England one autumn. Gorgeous from what I've seen.

And when you git down hyar, I'll hook ye up wiff some good ol' country ham, grits, sliced t'maters, red-eye gravy, homemade biscuits, and all th' trimmins!

DISCLAIMER: I'm from Dixie. 8 degrees is good to be outdoors...if and only if one is killing hogs. Otherwise, we snuggle in weather like that. Not with the hogs either. :p

ROFL!

The highways during Autumn up here get pretty bad, we call em "Leaf Peepers". But you can get some pretty spectacular views.

You can come up and stay a while if you promise to stay away from New York. Contrary to what they would like you to believe they are not New England...no matter how far "upstate" you go.

Thanks for the invite.

No need to worry. If and when I get up that way, I won't even go through a major city. When I went to WI for a friend's wedding, I drove an hour extra to bypass Chicago. No interest whatsoever.

If and when, I'll be staying in the smallest, most out of the way places I can find. That's where the true character of any region is.

That is, of course, assuming that my goal of thru-hiking the AT never comes to fruition. If THAT happens, I'll be staying in a sleeping bag somewhere hopefully away from bears and SNAKES!!

MMMMM, I haven't had Vermont Sryup since I was wee little. I have been ice fishing, not for me. I am about over the cold temps and snow now. Please keep it all your way, Paul.

Watch for ticks and deer mites too...

The family farm is a good place to get away too...

Or we could help my enslaved cousin with his daily chores...

That's so cute! But I didn't know you liked animals, I thought you only led them to the slaughter! :p (remember freebie!) You being the evil one you are! lol

Enslaved?? Looks to me like the lad is following a very honorable and noble calling.

Oh definately, I'd give anything to go up there and work. I'll see about getting you two some maple syrup. :)

I personally have no trouble deciphering what he says, but I'm fluent in Redneck. :p

LOL, touche` puddy cat!! I'm quite fluent in redneck myself. I was born & raised in the beautiful state of SC. However, after spending many a yr in yankee land, it's seems to me that Ward could use Hooked on Phonics. I will say for the record that I hope he doesn't invest in such a program. His "style" of speech is every bit as entertaining as it is endearing.

:D
