To low in Texas - Crew chief Kevin Manion was fined $50,000 and remains on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2009. Car owner Teresa Earnhardt and driver Martin Truex Jr., were penalized with the loss of 50 championship owner and 50 championship driver points, respectively. (11-10-2009)

To high in Chicago - Truex was penalized 25 points in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver standings. Manion was fined $25,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2009. Earnhardt was penalized 25 points in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owner standings. (7-14-2009)

I wonder if the 'to low' and the 'to high' even things out and he'll be taken off probation? This also makes me wonder, what exactly is probation? I mean if you get busted for something and placed on probation for the rest of the year, I'd think that if you get busted again while on probation, the repercussions might be a lot more severe.

I have no idea....I mean drivers do something get put on probation...then later on do something again and guess who...still on probation.

and lol @ them being on probation until Dec 31st.

What Nascar Rule they gonna break after the season is over????

To fast exiting the driveway???

or maybe there buggy at Wal-Mart weights to much or there in the 12 items or less lane with 13 items...that is the thing that gets me...probation going past the seasons end.

If you're on probation and get busted for something else while on probation, you get suspended.

Can anyone recall a driver or CC getting busted a second time and suspended for the year? I can't. Wonder how the primary sponsor would deal with it?

I think NASCAR would work very, very hard to NOT have to suspend driver/CC for a year ---

I would almost be willing to bet that primary sponsors have clauses in contracts to cover such contingencies.

That's what I'm thinking, after the first time a "Get out of jail card" is issued.
