Today at North Wilkesboro Speedway Red Bull racing was testing a car. The car was totally black and no word as to who was driving. But get this, tomorrow Kasey Kahne will be at the grand opening of a new store in Winston Salem. Does 1+1=2? Just wondering...
 
I think Scott speed posted something on twitter about somebody (some no-name) filling in the 83 for a race or two. But i could be imagining things.
 
Ekstrom back in the #83 car at Richmond? UPDATE: There is a possibility that Mattias Ekstrom will return to drive the #83 Red Bull Racing Toyota at Richmond International Raceway on Sept 11th. Ekstrom, a Red Bull Racing driver, made his Sprint Cup debut at Infineon Raceway in June, starting 38th and finishing 21st. Due to a DTM race on Nürburgring, Ekstrom was unable to run the car at Watkins Glen, Boris Said drove the car there.(Motorsport Total - translated in part)(8-18-2010)
UPDATE: Mattias Ekstrom, a two-time champion in the German Touring Car Series, will make his second Cup start for #83 Red Bull Racing on Sept. 11 at Richmond, pending a successful test Tuesday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. As a fill-in for Brian Vickers, who is undergoing treatment for blood clots, Ekstrom qualified 38th and finished 21st after leading seven laps in his Cup debut at the road course at Infineon Raceway in June.(Sporting News)(9-6-2010)
 
...so they are going to replace Sorenson with a guy who has never raced on an oval?

Not in a Toyota. I think that Mike is probably right with Ekstrom getting some practice. I was just thinking that since Kahne will be driving for Red Bull next year that he might be doing some testing for them for the future.
