What type of car does the state trooper or highway patrol use in your state?

They use Tahoes here too, forgot about that.
And back in the Olden Days

I have a state trouper on my route and normally he drives a Charger. But now and then he switches to a backup car when his is in for service and then they give him a Crown Vic. But lately, he's been driving an unmarked Chevy SUV, muddy grey in color. NC drivers be aware!
 
Switching over to Chargers here too. Staties also have a few Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers that they patrol Rt 95 with. They've also gone to the grille red and blue wig wags, strobe headlights and the old roof lights are gone, they now have a roof bar that follows the roof outline and hangs over the rear window. Sneaky bastages....

same here in texas. They're just undercover cars with a push-bar, more or less. Only the tahoes are the obvious ones anymore. But damn them things fly too..had one from DWG pass me on 20 once, prob going an easy 85 or 90.
 
I really hate the in-line profile lights. I thought we had a gentleman's agreement that they were suppose to be big and obvious.

simple answer: I thought we did, too.
 
Small little town I grew up in, early 70's we had Fury III's with the 440 in them. Gad those cars were fast...... in a straight line, couldn't corner worth a chit.;)
 
This is a new one (or two) for me. On the way home from school, saw 2 undercovers- a tahoe and a harley.

Tahoe is blacked out with wig-wags behind the grille and no pushbar, harley is black frame with white tank, plain white helmet in regular leathers, only says police on the back, didn't see any wig-wags at all (must be really well hidden) looked like a regular harley out for a joyride.

I seen a Harley the other day all black except for tank it was black and white and had Arlington PD badge on the side of the tank.

I didnt get a good look at the bike, but thats still pretty darn undercover for a 2 wheeler.
